the intercooler is made by Trust japan we will see how good it is when it starts having to work for a living but like i say i have another option which is bar and plate ..you can see how tall it is by looking at the bumper is bowed because it sited too high to be rectifide...lol.... time will tell ......chris

It'll work much better if you move the registration plate out of the way

Conrad

PS, I dont like my APS one, hard pipe kit means smaller battery and passenger side pipe pushes on headlight unit in the inner wing, when the engine rocks the light moves Poor design really, originally designed for Auz cars (smaller batteries) and STi 7 headlights I would assume.

well the engine is just about built for running in purposes anyway had 1 minor hickup when undooing the cam pullys on the r/h exhaust the bolt refused to budge infact it was bending a 2'brittool braker bar and the bolt had been done up so tight that it had cracked the plastic pully when we eventually got it off thanks David .. the cam fratured due to the locating pin and me welding a socket over the bolt but that was the only way i could think of dooing it .. but anyway new cam now puchased and new pully hofully will be in the car and running by next sunday fingers crossed run it in for a bit and then out again for ported heads and the other bitts and pieces that are required ... chris

LOL

Everything was going so well, the little jap f*cker thought 'i know, i'll turn the airgun up as high as i can to do the cam bolt up'

Yep, thanks to Mr Wallis for the help and use of his workshop to resolve the cam bolt prob.

Oh well, at least i havent got to ring into work sick tonight... would have been a long night mapping

Surely some mistake? This must be the BEFORE picture!

Show us the 'real' tidy one!

'Rob posting on chris's PC'

Oh My F*ckin god!

Been out for a little while mapping the 2.5 this evening..
Todays antics..

Had a slight set back this afternoon, Poxy Timing belt tensioner!!
Changed the Map on the car, started it up and the knocking sound from the engine wasnt too welcome...

Had a good listen and the knocking sound was coming from the front of the engine on the right hand side, i was certain that it was the tensioner.. Exchanged the tensioner and refitted...

Purring like a kitten!!

Once i was happy with the idle quality, we got ready to go out on the road, fixed the wideband display so it didnt move about, bolted in the detcans and sorted out the power pack for my laptop.
Adjusted the map to what i thought would be 'about' right and set off towards the petrol station about 400 yrds up the road.
By the look on chris's face he was happy

Filled up with petrol and headed out for an hour to adjust the map some more, What a transformation!!!!!!!!!

I cannot belive the difference between the 2.5 and the 2.0, with less timing and just above atmospheric pressure mapped the car is so much more torquey than the 2.0
Chris said that the car was pulling much better low down and when we were cruising in 5th he said that the car really needed another gear. I could feel that the car was pulling from very low down with very little throttle.
With a few runs and a good map in place we headed back to cris's and he let me have a drive myself. The car pulls from 1200rpm in 5th without struggling, it will be very interesting when we continue.....

Probably a lot of rambling above, but the car is coming together very well
