Alyn, it's definitely not you that he says has advised him about the pump, or the prices, he just did some phoning around (I'm only the poster on the internet, cos he hasn't got a computer). Steve Simpson told him about the extra stuff that MAY be needed. Please don't think that was what my post was getting at. He did mention he'd spoke to you a while back, but I know for a fact that this is not your advice.

Like I said in my previous post, Craig couldn't remember if it was an oil or fuel pump that had been mentioned, so don't qoute me on which, but I think the price he's got is for the oil pump. If it's only a £95 fuel pump he might need, that'll ease his mind.

As far as the coilpacks go, Alyn will probably be the best to answer, as he worked on Craigs car when he first got it, with an overboosting (I think) problem, which he got sorted.

I'll give him a knock tomorrow, and show him your posts here, I'm sure he'll be pleased.

Thanks lads,

Andy.

Hi Miss Scooby

I was told the Fuel pump is recommended but not essential. I have mine fitted it all depends on how far you wanna go with your car. I would say get the plugs done before Steve maps it tho.

Right to the top once more. Well I have private messaged the persons who have not sent their cheques yet and had no reply apart from V45 thanks mate. I am currently waiting for word from Steve that he has received the cheques that were outstanding including yours and mine Splitter. If we dont get 15 cheques then what we can do is go ahead with the group buy in anycase and add £75.00 on to the bill for each of us. I will ask anybody reckon they wouldnt be up for that to let me know. The what ever the majority of people want we will do.

I might be interested but have a few questions.

Is launch control only available on >01 cars?
Can I have at mapped at my place in Reading?
How long can I wait to have the work done? I'm about to do a fair bit of work to the car.
How much would a subsequent remap cost?

Launch Control is available on the ver5 Sti Imprezas aswell so that would make the Sti`s from about 99.

Steve will map the car at your place in Reading and depending on mileage will charge something like 40p per mile although I wilget that confirmed. If there is more than two of you in the area getting the mapping done at same time you could split the cost of Steves travelling expenses.

The time scale is 50% cheque as soon as physically possible to Steve Simpson then the time scale between him receiving the cheque and final instalation is down to yourself. Already people have mentioned they would wait for a few months or till the end of the year.

I cant remember what the cost is for remaps as I got a lot going on at moment. I will ask the question on Monday and also get an updated paid cheque list aswell.

Yeah johnny the Wrx93 can have anti lag and its no extra cost for anti lag. You can even ask Steve how mild you want it.

Question

Whats the current state of this group buy??

How many people do we have (firstly paid up.. and secondly intending to buy)

Where geographically are those that *have* paid (so we can try and arrange alternative fitting/mapping locations)?

Have we heard from Steve recently?? (is he back from the US).

Can we have a definitative cut off date so we all know where we stand? (a bit rich from me seeing as i've only just joined the group buy :-) )...

Hello this is Simon.

As you all know at moment John is dealing with his terminal ill granmother. He has asked me to pass on his apologies and has told me to paste up he will get Steve to start organising the fitment dates. For everybody that ahs sent cheques aparently we are upto ten. The group buy is still open and going ahead witht aking extra people on. The price that ahs been agreed with Steve is the original group buy price plus £75.00 as we have only secured ten peoples cheques. We would need another 5 of the original people to reply and go ahead with it. We are going to finally close this group buy at the end of April if not sooner. John will be speaking to Steve tomorrow and getting everybody sorted. I hope you can all just bear with me and him till then. Thanks.

Just been pointed to this thread from the drivetrain section and would be very interested in getting my 98V4 Type R done, just a couple of questions first:-

With the Gems is the Maf sensor still in use?
Is anyone else signed up who lives in the North East?
Who would I make the cheque out to and where do I send it?

Sorry to sound thick about the maf sensor but I have had 2 go on seperate cars amounting to around £500 of my hard earned cash.

Cheers

Simon
