There's a lad down my street got a 93 WRX, he's been telling me today that he's looking to get one of these, but he has no internet access, so he'll not know about this. Been quoted £1800. I'll speak to him tomorrow to see if he wants to sign up. I'm sure I would if I was him.

Cos our lass would throw me out of the house for spending that sort of dough (if I had that sort of dough BTW), when we need a new stair carpet amongst other things, lol.

I've tried to explain that stair carpets don't make my motor run faster or better, but women just don't seem to understand.

Cheers,

Andy.

Wal the trick is not to tell her about the GEMS and tell her the in thing this season for floor coverings is natural wood so let those floor boards show and add subtle styling with white emulsion. Say you saw it on changing rooms. She will be ok.

Spoke to Craig, he definitely wants one. But with having no internet access, would he be able to phone Steve direct, and tell him he's part of the group buy, and sort it himself from there??

Is there a contact number I can give him for Steve??

Thanks,

Andy.

Question

Is this group buy still open?

Does the GEMS installation replace the MAF with a MAP sensor? or would this be additional?

Hi Richie

Group buy is still open but only just if you wanna get in on it then you will need to send Steve Simpson a cheque for 50% deposit before end of week.

This system replaces the MAF sensor and I believe the Map sensor is included in Price mate.Do you want in.

Miss Scooby

Steve was in contact today and is given me a list of people I am going to Private message them and get everbody going tomorrow as to yeah or no.

I spoek to Steve yesterday and he was flying off to New York.

Upto now with Janjo sending and Craig Sending, Steve will when he confirms have nine cheques. Which if we go ahead with the group buy at this stage then we would have to pay the extra £75.00 for not getting the full 16 allocated I am currently private messenging the individuals who havent paid the deposit to confirm yes or no if they are sending cheques.

Will have it all sorted by end of week. Promise Paul

Liz says can she please have her camera back please please please.

Can anyone help?

Craig phoned Steve about his new ecu, and Steve mentioned about Craig doing stuff to his car before the ECU was fitted. Coilpacks and uprated either oil or fuel pump was mentioned (Craig can't remember which, he says his head was spinning after all the technical jargon, lol).

He's priced coilpacks, £79 each, and told he needs 4, then on top of this £350 fitted for the pump, then they said while they strip the engine down, he might as well have the cam belt done. Starting to get pricey. Does this all sound necessary, and could he get the stuff any cheaper somewhere else?? We've read that import and UK coilpacks are the same, is this correct??

He's not doubting Steve's word, but if all this needs doing, he's going to be looking at over £2 grand, which is getting on the high side, and he's worried he won't be able to afford it.

He says he'll speak to Steve when he gets back, to comfirm what's needed, but with both me and him being somewhat novices in this tuning game, he's just after a little clarity really.

Thanks,

Andy.

Andy.

My car is a 1998 Sti ver 4 Type R

All Steve mentioned to me was an uprated Fuel pump Group Buy at minute £95 supplied (AS Performance) and new Spark plugs NGKPFR7B(£25). Cant see why he would need an oil pump.

Dont see why Craig would need Coil packs unless they are broken. Is the car misfiring or showing any signs of bad running? If Craig needed to replace the coil packs then they would need replacing in anycase to cure the poor running.

If he was changing the oil pump then best advised to change the cambelts aswell. as they need to come off in anycase to do it. Cant see why you would need to change the oil pump for an ECU.

Only other thing I have added is an oil pressure gauge and boost pressure gauge.

Even the Fuel pump is only a recommendation. I have changed mine myself and I am a novice with spanners.

Walwal..............ask craig to call in and see me and i'll set him right.............not sure who you (or him) have been talking to but i originally spoke to craig about this couple of weeks ago!! (isn't me who has "advised" the rest!!)
he will need an uprated FUEL pump at minimum (currently running grp buy on these, check other thread!!)............
