Neal - you know what mine is like... I'm coming round to the idea of "upping" the power.

So, on that basis, and not being illegal with a decat, I'll go for the 'ole' power boost, depending on when it can be fitted etc.

Put me down for it. It's about the only thing that can be done to 97 specs... what the hell!

had my remap done today, anyone who is 50-50 about getting this done (i know i was), DO IT! you will not regret it!
started with 266 bhp and 236 lb torque, finished with 277 bhp and a slight(!) jump to 266 lb torque!
cars a MY99 with full magnex de-cat and itg panel filter.

i am a very happy bunny indeed!

car is totally different, pulls like a train, boosts earlier, and with no sacrifice to normal driving, in fact it's a LOT smoother to drive. pick up on the m25 on the way home is astonishing, 80 onwards a slight dab on the throttle and she's away!

greg, chris laid our 2 power plots over one another and they were virtually identical apart from your torque 'bump' at about 3000 rpm,i was expecting a bit more from mine with the downpipe to your standard, but there you go, shows how good your scoobysport exhaust is i guess! hope your drive home was as fun as mine!

sorry i can't remember your name mate, but the other fella i was talking to with the downpipe, hope it give you the increase your after, put a post up with your results!

leading on from earlier posts about preparation on the rolling road, if you're a first timer like me, take some ear plugs! you've never heard a car howling like it! first run they did on mine i nearly **** myself!!

cheers for organising this neal, if it wasn't for the discount i wouldn't have gone for this and would have missed out on the best thing ever done to my car. cheers mate!

THANKS NEAL

I had a little surprise at P.E today
It turns out that my car already had a Superchip fitted.
That accounted for my higher than expected run of 238bhp at powerstation last year with only a back box and centre section with a green filter.

Anyway, thats been removed now, so if anyone is interested

After the P.E remap, i ended up with 275bhp at 6365rpm....

and 277lb/ft at 3500rpm

As hoskib just said, the power delivery at 80mph on the motorway is incredableone dab and your away again

I left the motorway and came back the scenic route after that.
The power delivery is so much smoother.

One happy customer

Guys, my MY98 UK is running an ITG panel, full TSL decat and a dawes (with standard F/C). I'm considering the PE route, but wonder how much difference I'll see - I guess I'd be ditching the dawes for a start...

Anyone any idea whether this remap would give me much benefit, or should I try and fit it in with something else (fuel pump/reg, turbo change (running td04 at the mo), intercooler ?) (I could stretch a little - if anyone has any ideas...)

Thanks,
Mark

Mark, yes you'll be ditching the Dawes I had to. At a guess your probably running 250 - 260 now so you'd probably see 270 - 280 with the remap.

If you wanted to spend more there are plenty of ways it really all depends upon your budget and personal tastes.

Yes turbo, fuel increases and a bigger / more efficient i/c will all help. Look back through this thread and you'll see what others have and are getting.

Do you know what PE would charge if a car is already running a TEK map that was a postal map i.e what they would charge to tailor it to the car (usual mods including ITG panel, TSL Downpipe, Centre and rear).

Fitted my PE mapped ECU into a collegues Wagon, which was running a TEK2.5 postal map
The PE map had the edge especially lower down.

Even more so when I put it back in mine and chased him up a dual carriage-way (other then the ECU the cars are the same spec/year). He was hitting the rev limiter and spitting flames at me. I was backing off and getting no where near the limiter. I didn't think he was trying but he assured me he was.

Also, its done 100K - But, I've already fitted AFR, boost gauge and knocklink, and everything seems OK.

Think I'm best to stick to the 280 level for now...

Hi Guys

Great results can you scan your gaphs and post them, if you cant post them mail them to me as my profile and I willdo all the posting for you

The group buy I arranged was available up until the end of January as the cost of Xmas might of put a few people off. Robert at PE agreed that as long as a deposit of £60 was paid before the end of Jan then he would honour the group buy price. The final fitting date is the end of March. I will call PE tomorrow to confirm !!!

Cheers

has anyone in the group done an STI8 (MY03)?

I've got an H & S decat downpipe and prodrive BB, with a green air filter and was wondering what sort of gains I would get?

What's the dif between the TEK2/phase 2 and the TEK3 for the 03 cars?

Cheers

Hi,

I'm booking for this Friday. Can someone who has had this done already tell me - do you sit in with the tuner while he's remapping the car or just tell them what you want and then leave it with them.

I ask because I'm having a de-cat centre pipe fitted and an oil change at the same time and I don't want to hang around.

Cheers

I'm going on Monday and when I rang to book I said I'd have the GF in tow and Rob said they could drop us in town for a couple of hours. Just got to make sure she doesn't see the bill

Mind you, don't fancy hanging around while some guy you don't know thrashes the keks off your car on the rollers

I wouldn't mind them doing my oils too actually. Been meaning to do engine and 'box but haven't got round to it.

Guys, I just phoned PE and the group buy DEFO ended 31st December -

However, Robert was helpful anyway, so I'm still going

I'm booking for End Feb anyhow, so will give them another ring closer to the date.

Cheers,

Mark

having been and had mine done I would not worry about the workmanship of this company and that they are going to thrash your motor. As an aside having never been outside the car when it was put on rollers it was a weird experience to hear the noise tha car makes (you dont realise how much sound proofing there is to keep it quiet in the cabin)
GaryCat they have a seperate workshop for the exhaust and try to get the work completed prior to the rr. The guys at PE offered to either let me have theircourtesy car or offered to drop me into town. If staying at PE take some food if over the lunch hour

What is the average boost that they are setting.

I was so surprised to see my graphs with 275bhp and 277lb/ft at the time that i forgot to ask what they had set

I phoned them up today and was told around 1.175 bar.

Does that sound about right.

I have e mailed P.E and are waiting for conformation.

By the way, its an my98 with scoobysport bb and centre with a green air filter.

Thanks
Greg

when i booked mine in (moanday before last) i just said i was part of the group buy and that was what i was booked in for. i paid the group buy price with no questions asked, maybe you guys could blag it and say you were already down but joined at the point when you didn't have to pay a deposit?
not trying to pull a fast one over PE just save you guys a few quid!
and anyone having this done that hasn't heard their car on the rollers, you've got to watch (or hear) it, i wish i had taken a camcorder, bit sad i know, but you won't believe how much noise it makes!

greg, mine was mapped to hit 17 psi, don't know what this is in bar, or whether it is different from your MY to yours. have you still got a grin when driving mate? i know i have!

just done a search greg and 1 bar = 14.50377 psi ,so your 1.175 bar (17.04 psi) sounds spot on to mine.

I introduced myself on the phone as 'I'd like to take part in the scoobynet group buy....'

You might get away with a blag, but I was considering having PE do the work before this, so I'm quite happy with the price that Robert quoted me.

I'm going to get them to take off the Dawes and 'maybe' replace the ITG panel with a K+N induction kit. I'm hoping to have my I/C tilt and splitter done by then too - so 'Fingers crossed' for 280ish and a noticable improvement... (If there isn't one, my wife will never let me hear the end of it )

John P - Don't get me wrong when I said the car will be thrashed, its just as you say when cars on the rollers it makes a hell of a noise!

I'm sure they'll do a good job.

The intercooler tilt is just 2 x metal/plastic spacers and 2 longer 8mm bolts. The pics look like its a bracket but its just the silver spacer. I have the instructions and dimensions for this if you want them.

Also you can make a splitter from this website

http://www.iwoc.co.uk/iwocmods.html
Splitter Drawings and Dimensions

Other Intercooler info

http://members.ozemail.com.au/~peter...st_session.htm
OTT DIY water spray
Automatic water spray

If you have water spray on your headlights simply redirect them to your intercooler. All you need is 2 x STi nozzles (GGR sell them) a T piece a hose reducer section and about 2 meters of washer hose. Once connected you simply use your headlight washer button on the dash to spray water onto your intercooler. Take about 1.5 hrs max.

Have fun

Neal

My MY98 is peaking at about 21 PSI in 5th .

Its always good to watch what is going on as I always have loads of questions and am interested in what they are doing. Have a good long chat with them about your mods and what you want from the remap. Dont just throw them your keys. If you are after LBF across the rev range tell them. If you want to tell all your mates in the pub its got @@@BHP then tell PE you are after a max BHP figure. If you want to run on unleaded rather than SUL tell them. Otherwise they will program a general map in that might not suit your driving style.

I asked for Loads of torque across the rev range, 300BHP, economy off boost running on Optimax as I had the mods on the car to enable me to get to this power figure. And I got what I asked for .

Hope this helps

Dropping off mine tomorrow.

Injectors all fitted and it's running very rough, those cylinders must be swimming in fuel - LOL

When I discussed what I was after we talked about 1.2/1.3bar max but then it already breathes quite well with the ported headers and uppipe.

I'll let your know how it goes...

Hi Guys all sorted

********** THE GROUP BUY IS ON UNTIL THE END OF JANUARY **********

I received an Email from Robert today and it reads

Hi Neal

Sorry for the confusion over the closing date for the group buy.

I thought we said the end of December but you and some Scooby boys are under the impression it is the end of January.

I will therefore keep it open until the end of January as I have obviously cocked up.

Please advise anyone interested that I have agreed the end of Jan and for them to contact me personally for the booking.

Sorry again for the confusion.

Regards

Robert

Therefore before the end of Jan contact PE and ask for Robert directly then pay your deposits to PE and you are part of the group buy !!!!! All you have to do then is book your car in and pay the final payment before the end of March !!!!!!!!!

Cheers

Neal
