I think you will find that my research in this area is more than good enough Peter.
No. Little granny in Abergarwed won't see a penny of that revenue, and it won't make a shred of difference to the parents of any kids who may be killed by traffic associated with the event, will it? "Your child's been run over, but it's not all bad, the rally brought £15m of extra revenue into the Welsh economy this year!". It doesn't really work, does it?
You might make that choice, but would your neighbour, who doesn't like or follow rallying? Would the parents of small children make that choice in the knowledge that they would have to put up with competition cars being driven at high speed past their doorsteps?
The WRC does Wales (as in the economy, tourism etc.) a favour, that is clear. However, the people of Wales are a different matter. The least they deserve is full consideration and safe driving from both competitors and spectators. This applies to any rally, in any neck of the woods, not just the Rally GB.

greasemonkey, you are on about hoe the rally has to work with the locals, thats rubbish. Surely the £15m in revenue will make the locals more than happy.
If I had to choose between £15m for my local economy, or 3 days if "possible" interuptions by a small road being closed, then there would be no competition.
You make it sound like Wales is doing the WRC a favour, i doubt that very much, having been to Wales once
