Ford continues record-breaking run
Great Britain · Ford · 10/11/2003 14:51:32
When Francois Duval and Stephane Prevot crossed the finish line of SS18 – Margam Park – at the end of the Wales Rally GB, they put the seal on a unique record.
Those four points scooped by the Belgian duo and their Focus WRC meant that the team scored points on every single event of the championship. And it's the second time they've done it – the team got a car home in the points in every 2002 rally, too.
28 consecutive points finishes is testament to extraordinary reliability as well as a mean turn of speed from the M-Sport-built Focus WRC.
Team boss Malcolm Wilson was delighted at the performance and reliability gleaned from the Focus.
"It's incredible," he said. "We were proud to achieve it last season and to repeat the feat again in 2003 is quite remarkable. World championship rallying today is probably the most competitive form of motorsport anywhere and to score points for 28 consecutive rallies, a record spanning two complete seasons, confirms the strength and speed of the Focus RS. We introduced a radical new car earlier this season and if there was any time when we were going to lose our record it was in the early days then. But we didn't and that's a tribute to the hard work of everyone in the team, from the drivers to the co-drivers, to the engineers and technicians."

Hi Ste, are you any closer to getting your car sorted yet mate
this has to be one of the best scooby/cossie threads on here as there is no real slagging sessions
i have owned both cars and in reality have to say there are good and bad things in both cars, both are good value for money for the performance enthusiast.
glad to see a sence of humour from you guys, lets keep it up.

That RS didn't put up much of a fight when I went passed at 140mph on our way to Well Lane... Well it was only a S2 turbo....
Still it wears the RS badge so 1 - 0 to the Impreza !!
