How about we find a dis used long runway strip and the first car to the end wins this is a true test of a cars power! see if redline or some other mag would feature it what you all think???

If your up for it i will post it on the ford sites and see what we can sort out, it could be a FUN day out the cars could run in pairs one cossie against one scoob and have like a knock out comp with the winner going through to the next round

Ste,
Seeing as the Scooby is a shonky slow Prodrive'd UK300 (240bhp / 260lb ft), I don't think I'll be using that . A Cossie's starter motor is more powerful...

Peccy,
Your car looks VERY nice - what times has it done?

Be afaid, be VERY afriad...

David,
If I told you the spec I would have to kill you...

My old engine on a held of 17psi made 273.8bhp....

There were at least two Cossies that I can think of that did better times than your slow 12.16 and they were BOTH 2wd...

Unfortunately the fast 4x4s that were destined to be there were not ready in time - two of which have done confirmed 10s runs (and one of them is 2wd ).

I did not run as my car was also not finished. I think you may be getting me muddled up with Warren Kelly who destroyed his clutch on the first run (500+bhp does that ).

It may sound like excuses, but we fielded a team made up mainly of reserves due to half the original cars pulling out due to set-up / transmission problems
Ditto!

Andy F, was the only big power (400+ scoob there to my knowledge). Michaels legacay was impressive though.

Andy beat the top speed too, and thats with 4wd losses, none of this 2wd stuff

Christ i managed 157ish driving a bloody hearse for gods sake.

Steven

ste- dream on mate, there is nothing i love more than blowing away cossies!

the owners always look wounded

ask a cossie owner what power do you have, why do they always say 450bhp

there is an equation to work out the real power!

take owners power figure, take off 100bhp for owners over excitment, another 50bhp for the weak actuator excuse, and 50bhp for clutch slip excuse and you get somewhere near a true fugure

its so funny reading fast ford mags rolling road day page

estimated power= 450bhp
actual power= 250bhp
owners reaction= its down on boost so it must have a weak actuator, think the clutch was slipping too!

PMSL at your taxi with bonnet vents

Wot's ur excuse then for Ford producing that dangerous piece of crap the RS Focus? Launch that up the straight and the front LSD will take you off at 90 degrees! lol! Take ur blinkers off and see the light!
Yes that is a disgraceful car......it only managed to beat a standard WRX by about 6 seconds around the Top Gear track IIRC? In fact didn't a std rep-mobile Mondeo (1.8 or 2lite at a guess) lap it only around 2 seconds slower than the WRX PMSL yes Scooby's are great aren't they

are we having an handling course and top speed run too?

i reckon we set up some kind of course like the TOTB handling track, and like the Top Gear guys do to test the cars all round ability?

Not keep it garaged to use for race & rally's. It's a bit of banter & if we get an organised event I will challange a cossie in the same mods cat as myself.. Air filter & exhaust !..... So I will be in the tame cat !!

Can't wait to get it on..!

Cool

Saph cosworth 4x4 engines out at the moment but it will be faster than your 22b and p1 when it goes back in

Another way to work out which is the better car compare the price of a K-reg escort cosworth to a k-reg scoob, nuff said really

For you that dont know the pecking order

1)skyline
2)cosworth
3)evo
4)scooby

2.ltr class the cossie wins by miles

So now you know your place please kneel before the mighty cosworth gods when they grace you with there presence lol

Terminator PMSL You`ve just shot yourself in the foot lol, cosworth still hold the record for number of F1 wins not all of the engines are badged up as cosworths like ayrton senna`s McLAREN HONDA wasnt which he was crowned world chap in

How many F1 cars use subaru engines? How many touring car wins have subaru got? cosworth also have a good number of rally wins as well monte carlo being a good one in fact they have more race wins than anyone eles by a long way this is what makes cosworth so special they are a proper race engine builder and a good one at that and this is why the cars hold there value so well

I dont even class them as a ford there a cosworth! ford funded them cosworth made them what they are

Am very prowed to own something that the worlds greatest race engine builder has made and what makes it even better is its british too

LoL so what we have established upto know subaru are best off road(did i just say that lol) and cosworth are best on tarmac

Subaru`s a better point to point car, cosworths faster in a straight line

It should be a good match up between us, i think we should have 3 events one a drag race the other being a track day and the final show down at totb 3 but mike wont let me run at that because my cars not fast enough lol
