10k is a generous budget, but when you add everything up it really can end up at that and a lot more. I originally wanted to make my car as fast as a P1, then it was an M3, then it was a 911 Turbo. I probably spent as much as the M3 but not the 911 Turbo But also I am not reliably outperforming a 911 Turbo yet And even then it won't be a Porsche even if it corners like one and accelerates at least as well as one. Modifying can get stupid, and it is something we all blow hot and cold on I think. Presently I am optimistic but just waiting for the next setback.

John,
and a 911 turbo, with better traction, better brakes and well driven it effing quick on track when driven properly!
Far, far quicker than an M3 or even decently modded Scoob or Evo!

Yeah... I'm starting to think along those lines. I plugged a few details into an online car insurance site, and got some insurance prices back on 911s (not Turbos, mind). Costs were no greater than my modded Impreza. It'll either be a TVR or a 911 when I move off Imprezas.
