Anybody on here into Real Mini's?

Tuning the A series is a waste of time when you can stick a 1.6 VTEC engine in and get a totally reliable 160BHP.
Infact after a couple of years racing in rallycross with a 135BHP A series that is exactly what my brother did. Managed to find a JDM Civic SiR II which actually has 170BHP as standard and after I had managed to sell all the bits we didn't want worked out at just over £1000. That is the sort of money you can spend on a set of titanium conrods for a mini and the Honda engine is currently bouncing off the 8800RPM rev limiter almost every gearchange.
Apparently the handling of the car with the Honda engine and Quaife gearbox and LSD is MUCH better than the handling with the A series.
Infact it was going pretty well at Lydden last weekend until it was viscously attacked from behind by a Lotus Exige off the start of the first race and snapped all the rear suspension (Pictures in the current edition of motoring news).
