No probs m8.
Having said that about the figures though, it also gives the same 280 for mine and its a STI Type R Version 5 with a red top engine. Work that one out!

280ps is around 276BHP which happens to be the supposed maximum for Jap cars hence is the same as the quoted power for almost all STis (except early models).

So it's roughly the same power as an STi although it's debatable whether they all stick to the supposed 280ps maximum.

If it is a STI then it should redline at about 8250RPM A WRX is about 1000RPM lower

You can't argue with the VIN plate. If it says it's a WRX then it does exactly what it says on the tin.

I'd be more worried if it was an STI, but had the VIN plate from another car.

Just to confuse the issue I have an Sti Version 3 which had a red manifold although virtually all of the paint has flaked off now - therefore - not all Sti's will necessarily have a red manifold!

Thanks Green Scoob

Its my first scooby (first performance car) didn't know there were so many different kinds at first.. i bought this thinking its n sti thats what it was addvertised as and thats what i've got it insured as.. don't think the previous owner knew neighther he didn't seem to know much about the car..

With the sti badges etc (boot lid "WRX sti" and front fog covers "STI") i thought it be n sti.. car data check dont list imports on their modell and neighther do insurance companies.. they just said its a subaru impreza..

i've had it for six months had been driven 37,000 miles full service history etc n paid £9000.
Looking around at scoobies going at that time it seemed a very good price for a my98... i still feel i got a good deal on it cos me love it
