Dealers should make people aware of the Wave when people first set foot onto the forecourt.

Those who think its naff would be discouraged from buying, and buyers would know their obligations.

When a prospective buyer sits in the car to check out the seat and controls, he/she could try out the wave to see if it feels right too.

Probably not the driving test - but certainly the test drive.

The test drive really should be to establish whether you are permitted to buy.

agree with the 'less wave response' in WRX03 than Classic.

Beginning to suspect it's a tad elitist as been ignored by THREE P1s recently, just 'cos I'm in a silver 03?!

I only wave at those who wave at me first - feel like a bit of a sad act when I wave and get no response.

Maybe its about time the "Was It You?" forum was expanded to include a "Name and Shame" section to include and the miserable b@$t@rd$ who never respond.

Or possibly a sticker you could put in your window that oncoming drivers can see that you'll reciprocate?

its sods law, go out in the scooby and see no other's on the road, go out in the daily runner (306) and see lots. Even waved by mistake a few times, now that does get strange looks.

maybe I need my other cars a scooby sun strip or a big scoobynet flag or something.

I've got the best of both worlds a scooby and a vw combi van . I give and get waves whatever i'm driving . Problems start when you wave a combi when driving the scooby or vice versa, the other drivers think you're nuts. I've got to say i get more waves returned in the combi, some scooby drivers completely ignore me, which as other people have said makes you feel a real prat especially when you have passengers.
Keep waving, Treacle

If I'm not mistaken it would seam that we have more P!ss Taking Wives than Wavers......

I certainly fall into that category....

Infact mines worse than that cos If I happen to wave at a scoob driven by a Woman then I get a Bollocking and a **** take....

Cest La Vie eh.... I'll continue to Wave regardless cos I think it's good... Geeez there is enough misery on the roads today without people be-grudging us a friendly wave eh

I like to wave, but feel a bit self concious, 'cos

A) The wife takes the mick out of me and

B) MG owners wave to MG owners and I don't want to be associated with beardy type activities

I think it should at least be on the registration for this site, with a bit stating that failure to wave will result in naming and shaming and the persons id being deleted.

i nearly always get em driving around Leics, Notts and Northants. You men always look twice thou when u c a female behind the wheel, normally a look of shock

It's even better when i'm overtaking some 17yr lad in his Nova or similar car, they look like they're gonna die being overtaken by a woman.

I dont know about the rest of the female Impreza owners but all I get is a look which says "what the hell si a woman doing driving a car like that." It kinda pisses me off as I do wave at them. But hey, if thats the price i've to pay to drive me scoob then so be it. I'm not gettin rid of it anyway!!!!!

80% of the Scoobs I wave at return the gesture, the others just look at me stupid, still will not be deterred.

Went to Mansfield today with wifey and youngest to veiw Shaggy dog's P1, well from Beeston to the garage we passed 2 bugeyes and a classic, NOT 1 waved or flashed, and as they went by i turned to look at em just in case, and guess what they were all old men at 50ish+, they should all be made to swear an oath on delivery that they will wave or flash at every other scooby they pass.

Experianced my first Scoob wave tuesday, one day after I got my car (2001 bugeye), P1 owner dead friendly, so wee wave and a blip of the throttle as a thanks. Everyone near us thought we were from another planet but hey its all in good nature and adds to the cars experiance.
If I see any scoob I will always wave, whether they wave back is up to them.

Question

I drive a new age sport, so not having a scoop makes me a little invisible to many (no disrespect). But...

Weekends = some waves
Weekdays = rarely any wave

Conclusion? Hellovalot of snotty business drivers who haven't a clue about the community

Been thru the phase, now don't give a sh*t and wave at all I see Their prob....

Yesterday we took the kids to Twycross Zoo driving through Buxton saw two scoobys both waved then down the A515 saw another got a wave back then Got too the A50 and onto twycross saw another five scoobys but not one wave back. Wife taking the pi$$ big time.

a) I've never been spotted and put in the 'was it you'
b) No one has ever replied to my 'was it you' posts
c) I tried to wave to some guy up my *** in a turbo last week and he just ignored me and roared off - Miserable G1T !! so I let him go - rather NOT be associated Thanks v much

I spoke to a dealer this week and suggested that he should tell people about the Scooby Wave before he makes a sale.

"Oh yes" he said, "they do that don't they".

So not an overwhelmingly enthusiastic response.

Got my first scoob last Thurs and got my first scoob wave at the weekend, brought a big smile to my face after reading about it on this thread. Since had another one......is it just me or do you see less scoobs when you're driving one, before I got it I saw loads, now hardly any!!

Thinking of getting some small stickers made up of a wave and putting them on the front wing for every one I get, cool or sad!?!?

jjm - LOL Depends how many stickers! Might be a bit sad if you only get a few. Too many would spoil the paintwork - that would be sad too.

Here's an alternative: Every time you get a wave, add a new topic in 'Was It You'. Then add yourself as one of your VIPs so that you can go back and count your waves.
