What would scooby do: was that the one in milton keynes, I think they shut down because their service was soo poor they drove all their customers away.

I live close to them, but chose to drive to st albans as the service was soo much better, plus MK never had any alfa trained mechanics !!

I used to own an alfa 146 flatfour. I now habe a wrx, Alfa's look so much nicer than subaru's but they just don't handle or go anywhere as well.
My only other chioce for a new car other then the scooby was a 3l v6 GTV.. the engine howles like a ferrari...

Jonto I have seen you drive and it would take about 10 minutes to destroy the front tyres and 5 minutes with the TC switched off .

Does look good but must say I dislike that grille, far to big IMHO.

I like the look of them and it's certainly a cracking engine but there's no way I'd ever buy one! I couldn't face the depreciation or repair bills

but to be fair, the latest Fiat cars are actually proving to be quite reliable
Jon, I dunno where you heard that but two of my mates work in the local Fiat dealership, they're both experienced mechanics and they both say Fiats are terrible, especially the Stilo, they've had no end of problems! They just taken on Alfa aswell which they say are worse still!!!

Apparently so mate I think the Stilo is a good looking car too plus they're well specced up for the money but I'm told they're forever being towed in, the sunroofs leak / don't work, the wipers pack up and the airbag system is a joke!

This has to be reflected in their poor sales...it is a shame though

Thanks mate thats another one knocked off the list so we're down to either a 206GTI or Clio 172 cup, I think it will come down to who does the nicest blue.

The Renault blue is far nicer. And the 172 is surely a better motor anyway? Driven them both?

I've taken the 206 for a test drive and thought it was a good car but not as quick as i'd hoped (not that it really matters as this is going to be the wifes car and she loved it, but she does want to try the 180BHP version).
I've got a week off soon so i'll try and get a blast in the Clio. I'd prefer to own the Renault because I'm undecided on the look of the 206 but being a bloke what the hell would I know about style.

I want more of 'Jonto slagging off SkodMan's Octavia's interior again'

Ho ho

PS Alfa finished nicely but wouldn't rust it one bit

the traction control can be turned off,its called ASR,the lower models have a stability programme that cannot be turned off

and standard 147s work very well on a track,so the GTA must be awesome

Bob.T are the Stilos really that bad because I actually think they're a nice lookin car, but thats no good if its always at the dealers for repairs.
