It's been about 1000 miles since I installed the Broquet catalysts, I though I would share my views with other Broquet users.
Having a Knock Link installed it has been fairly easy for me to report on the amount of reduced knock. It does appear that the knock has reduced slightly, when pushing hard I get the amber lights on, but as of yet I have not seen the red one. My only question reagrding this is, is the ECU retarding and learning for 97RON (the more times I show it knock, the better the retardation will be), or are the broquet catalysts doing their thing?
Unfortunatley I have broken my Knock Link (whilst trying to relocate it) so it might be a while before I bother investigating the knock any further.
Bob - you said you were going to investigate ignition timing and stuff with the Broquet catalysts, any findings?
On the fuel consumption, I have been quite **** in logging fuel consuption since installing Broquet and I am getting an average of 24mpg (in an STi V). I have no idea what my mpg was before so I can't really comment.
I would be interested in other peoples experience, especially those users who are now running on 95RON.
I've not had my emmisions tested iether.
I have posted the installation intructions for the in-tank broquest items on my web site. (I can't remember my web address so I will edit this post later, DOH!)
It looks less and less likely that Prodrive use Broquet for reducing knock alone, the Autocar mag reports that a new map is in place to handle 97RON. So Broquest may not be the wonder cure.
I thought Broquest was meant to improve combustion, I still get considerable over-run when pootling down the high street. (is this more of a mixture issue?).
I have not noticed any drop in power, in fact, I think the turbo lag is slightly reduced (but it could be my imagination).

have had broquet (2 x 8 cone unit) in my sti ver 5 for 1800 miles now...can't say that I have noticed any tangible benefit in terms of fuel consumption or power - thus any gains must be very small... careful measuring of mpg shows a 'possible' 1 mpg improvement (but there again this could be due to slight variance of my weekly commute /weekend driving)
Only noticeable effect has been a marked change in exhaust note after second tank of fuel... exhaust is less raspy and the pops + bangs (SS Downpipe and Backbox fitted) are less pronounced - maybe the engine is now running cooler/smoother than before but I wasn't expecting this effect - any ideas as to why?
btw - car will be on the rollers at Well Lane this Sunday so will be able to give dyno figures after fitting the broquet.. not holding my breath for any increase though ;-)

Slightly lower cylinder head temperature(cooler running)and smoother pick up and acceleration are exactly what you should expect from Broquet.
Dyno results everything being equal(air temp,humidity etc.)should show up to 5% improvement.

Quite frankly, comparing dyno results will be pointless unless you run the car without the magic beads, fit the beads, give the ecu chance to adapt and run the car again on the same day with as little time between runs as possible. Ideally you would run the car from the same level of engine/mechanics/transmission heat on both occasions, but this would be hard to sort out.

only thing I would add to the instructions for fitting would be to attache each of the broquet units to the sensor tubing inside using mononfilament fishing twine... this would then allow them to be fished out again at a later date if you so desired - wish I had done this myself but too late.

FWIW - dyno results today were 307 BHP and 308 Lb/ft torque - so broquet can't be all bad eh? - However, detonation was clearly audible at very high revs so the car was not tested up to the redline - knock has not been eradicated it seems - another sti 5 on the day was running Proboost and had no detonation so it looks like octane booster is a safer protection against detting than broquet. yet another sti 5 present had link ecu - no det and 322Lb/ft torque ! (281 bhp) - gradually changing my mind about link ecu when fitted properly.

rb - in fact I bought the broquets from Peter Wright on your recommendation ...
ref dyno before/after - as you will be aware - dyno runs measured on different days/temperatures etc. will not be comparable - also the nature of the broquet catalysts precludes doing a back to back test on the same day (even if I could fish them back out of the tank!) - so sorry - no data for comparisons - however I can say that the car is performing very well so I don't think anyone can say that they have a negative effect on performance - however, as ever, there is no scientific proof one way or the other.
this one is surely set to run and run ;-)

I run with Broquet in my fuel tank (STi5)and have noticed that the car runs more smoothly than before. It gives the same feeling as driving with Pro Boost (but without a real rise in Octane Rating).
The Broquet seems to give the fuel better combustion properties and has improved fuel consumption by an average of 3mpg, when driving sensibly!
I have a Possum Link, Lambda Link & Knock Link (kindly fitted by Bob Rawle) and the car is absolutely wonderful.
305 BHP and 307 lb/ft torque!

I run my STi5 with a couple of Broquets in the fuel tank.
Car drives much smoother (as if you are running an Octane Booster), but without a noticeable increase in the Octane Rating.
The fuel economy has improved quite a bit and now I am getting (on average) 3mpg more. This is with sensible driving, of course!
I also run a Possum Link, Lambda Link & Knock Link (kindly fitted by Bob Rawle) and the car is truely superb - JUST ASK STEF !
305 BHP and 307 lb/ft of torque!
