Oh, and if you are considering a Honda don't by anything badged IZZY as they are not proper Hondas - just designed for mass B&Q type market. Proper Hondas start at about £800.00

Used to always have Mountfield's years ago when they had aluminium decks but they're plastic crap now
Currently got a Snapper
Aluminium deck, 6hp B&S engine, electric start, three gears, not missed a beat in about 4 years hard labour.

LMAO @typical SN reply to a 'which' or 'what' question.
Usually starts with someone asking about a product costing £100 and then everyone starts with the 'dont buy that' and then go on to suggest spending 10 times the orignal price bracket

DJ,
I have the Flymo compact mower you've pictured (after I bust one of the tiny little ones), and yesterday found myself looking at the petrol mowers in John Lewis, hoping my mower would break soon.
It's OK, and convenient not to have to **** about with petrol and the associated maintenance, but it's not great, and all the dangling leads are a nuisance. I have a very slopey garden so you may be better off with your flat lawn (as per your piccies on DIY!)
Brought it out last month for the first time in 6 months, and realised I hadn't emptied the grass collection box from the last cut back in September. Yeeeuch!

Cheers

Does anybody know how to do the electrical equivalent of a remap? I've got an electric Flymo which I use to vacuum the lawn but as we are hopefully moving soon to a property with a much bigger lawn, there's no way this thing is going to be man enough for the job.
I'd just like to jazz this thing up a bit so that it can go out in a blaze of glory before I replace it with a Honda.

i do a bit of gardening, well actually its my job
we use hondas, with the roller, there used day in day out through the summer, current one is two years old.only replaced pull cord and blades
seems a bit overkill to me though, there 800 a pop(how big are your gardens!!!!!)
hayter would be cheaper and with the money saved get a petrol strimmer and some garden furniture

had a flymo - forever untangling the electric cord and trying to flick it out the way.
So got a petrol mower - advised to get a 2 stroke (25:1 petrol/oil) as they are a lot more reliable than 4 stroke.
Also get one with folding handle so u can take in yr WRX for servicing and the like ....
