Went to view a Sierra 4X4 Cosworth yesterday and want to go for it but I am unsure as to the value of the car and don't want to take a huge hit on it due to the fact I only keep my cars about 6 months top.

It is a 90 on a H plate, Moonstone Blue with full Leather. Has a Scorpian all the way through and really is mint.

Mileage is 61k with a FFSH. ALL old MOT's and just had a new clutch, cambelt and radiator.

Love it so far....find it very quick....bit quicker than the prodrive impreza I used to own but before I get flammed it doesn't handle as well.

Brakes are very sharp...cross drilled discs all the way so they feel nice and like they can stop you on a 5 pence piece

Dashboard is awful but the seats are lovely and supportive. Very laggy compared to impreza but fingers crossed dump valve should sort that out.

I think that for the money I paid I got quite a car.....above 10k mind you I would go with an STI. Not much else to add apart from the car has lots of charm and there is something about it which I have never had from a car before.

You could add some pic's mate

Hiya Matt, hows it going? Cossie sounds good, have fun with it , I seem to remember you mentioning thinking about a cossie when I got the Pug off you! Speaking of which, soon to be garaged and pampered in the next few weeks to make way for a Supra for my daily driver!

M8TT (I assume your name is Matt? ),

The Cossie already has a recirculating dumper! Ditch it and get some blanks to go in the hoses. That will increase response and you will gain a nice wastegate chatter!

Trumpet valves only slow down the response on a Cossie. Thy are only needed on a T4 anyway.

matt, listen to richpon here, wise words of truth he speaks, sadly for him he knows all too well

price seems reasonable for age/mileage, seems good if its a minter

lynne, dont be so defensive darling, it wasnt a "all cossie's are shat comment", its the truth, theres more shat than not shat about thesedays, they're fookin old sierra's at the end of the day, fords dont age well

my 1986 number aint rotten tho (well not too badly lol)

Gave it a proper good valet today and underbonnet clean and it has come up really well.

Not a mark on it which is quite surprising. Going to get it serviced and a few bits done then I will be a happy bunny.

Also any ideas on where to get the later spec Lattice wheels as I do fancy these.

I would say go on the RSBB, but as it seems to be having a large amount of trouble, i wouldnt bother even attempting to get on it.

I think that there maybe a RS section of some sort starting on here soon, so maybe through there you will be able to get some sorted.

Glad youre having fun in ya new car.

Hmmm could be a long search Matt, depends on what you're willing to spend and whether you want a large turbo or small turbo one.

Lynne,

Money wise dont know yet but would like a nice clean standard one, have got to sell the mini first.

Have been 'advised' to go for an earlier small turbo model but don't know nowt bout cossies hence the help needed.

Matt
