They have my size in stock, so David allocated them as soon as he put the phone down... just a case of getting them shipped now, hence the delay until Fri/Mon. He was saying he's shipped 500+ sets of the 17's in the past two weeks... sounds like the packing/despatch dept is busy! Will let you all know if I get them on time coz it seems alot of people are worried about shelling out money with no product arriving.

To be fair, I have just ordered some 215/45/17s for next week which he's allocated for me as soon as they come in including fitting.

I offered my VISA details but he wanted to sort it out when I came in.

I want to get a set of these but am confused as to which size to get. Some people are getting 215/45/17 whereas others are getting 215/40/17. I understand the differences in profile but which one should I get??? What makes you decide? Is there a difference in price???

I'm currently running 205/45/17 on Prodrive wheels. I assume the 215s will go on OK??

Cheers,
James

It's all about rolling radius and speedo readings. The 205/45/17 size is roughly the same as 215/40/17 in terms of circumference. I too have Prodrive P1 wheels currently shod with 205/45/17 Pirellis (<<shiver>&gt and have opted to go for 215/40's because of availablity, choice and price. I hope there isn't too much difference and can't see that 5mm either side of the wheel will cause a problem.

Unhappy

Well I am becoming more and more frustrated. I ordered tyres almost 2 weeks ago with a promise of delivery at the end of last week or the beginning of this week. Was told on Thurs last week they had been despatched. I spoke to Dave on Friday and was told that TNT had them. I then rang TNT on Monday and they hadn't collected anything on Thurs for Crossroads.

Spoke to Dave again and was told there was a mix-up with the tyres and the 215 40 17's were coming in Friday when he would send to me to arrive Sat but he would ring me on Wed to let me know. On thursday I had received no call so I rang and didn't get hold of him so left a message, no call back. Rang and spoke to him this morning, he didn't know at the time if the tyres were in so would ring me later. Hasn't rung back and I cannot get hold of him.

Now extremely p*ssed off as my MOT is out and I know it won't pass because the inside fronts are just on the wear limit.

I think I would rather have paid the extra £100 or so to avoid all this hassle!

Rant over!

Ian - if you're only in Wokingham why don't you pop down to get them fitted? I got mine done and they were fitted FOC.

Sennadog,

It's an idea I have considered if I could only get the information that he has the tyres in I would pop down tomorrow, its probably just about cheaper in fuel than it would be to have them fitted if he does it FOC.

Cheers for the suggestion.

Ordered 8 getting on for three weeks ago and they were to be expected within a week at most. Since I rang and the delivery address had been lost and the tyres were sitting there. They were promised earlier this week. Today it was said they were sent yesterday but still not arrived.

I suspect this guy has taken on rather more orders than he can fulfil in good time.

Same happened when I ordered a few P6000s previously, but the delay was only a day not two weeks.

I've had the same responses as Ian for the last few weeks. It is annoying, although I don't need them for a few months, but I don't like the idea of the money out of my account for 17 days now, yet nothing to show for it. He now says Monday or Tuesday and has had to source them from elsewhere because his next delivery is on the 22nd May. I keep getting the impression that I'm one of the few to of had a mix up, but there seem to be more on this BB.

Has anyone actually received theirs (except those who picked them up)?

I havent actually chased my order at all. Dave called me and apologised for the delay several times even when I said I wasnt that bothered as I dont need them for sometime yet. He told me that he orders direct from Goodyear and the latest shipment that came in was 45 profile which was annoying as the majority of his orders are for 40 profile (mine included).

I will start to get a bit worried if we hit June and I have no tyres but I really am in no hurry. I bought on credit card so can chargeback if I get shafted.

Simon.

Ordered mine this morning for delivery on 6th June as well. Not in any hurry, at this price it isn't to be missed.

Cheers James.

I was in there yesterday and whilst having mine fitted I saw another batch of 10 sets being sent off by the couriers.

For those in need of reassurance, I reckon he's just got a hell of a lot of orders to fulfill and having dealt with the guy face to face he seems a reliable sort.

Same as Ian here, was told end of last week, nothing arrived, chased them up and was told that there had been a ***** up with profiles, 40 had arrived and i ordered 45's, which totally contradicts what has been said a couple of posts ago, they were then supposed to arrive the end of this week, and still nothing! My tyres are as bald as minge in Shaven Ravers!!!

Well that doesn't sound too promising!!!!

Some people are told 45's came instead of their 40's and vice-versa for other people. It doesn't sound like we are getting the whole story. If David is busy and has made some mistakes then I can accept that, but I'd rather be told the truth.

Mine should be here Monday or Tuesday at the very latest. Lets hope there's no more delays/excuses.
