UT fun on a Wednesday usually starts around 7 to 7.30pm.

7:30 is when the fun starts although I'm starting up the server in 5 mins.

you need all the bonus packs and 436 patch installed. If you connect to the server unreal.siwd.net and it starts downloading stuff, or rejects you with "package mismatch" or other such fun, then you haven't got the packs.

 

Steve - the CS server runs on 195.152.244.165:27015 and the pass is sc00by same as the UT server.

in bonus pack 2 there is a umod file as well as the maps. Most people including myself tend to just dump those into the maps file and leave it at that. If you run the umod file that was included you will probably find it works.

Well I tried to play UT so that Lee could get his own back for the raping I gave him at CS but it seems that someone out there doesn't want me to do it

I'm getting hideous packet loss to unreal.siwd.net although my RTT's are 28ms on the packets which do make it there and back. It's not my connection as another box I'm pinging is fine and dandy.

Lee is something wrong with the machine m8?

yes it was a bit laggy for me also at times.

So a quick investigation..

won't bore you with the details but server and immediate network are fine as are most routes. However I certainly identified routes with a common gateway that were dropping packets - only conclusion is that one or more of the peering routers is dropping em. So it depends on where you connect from I guess.
As the peering routers I identified are not on the network of mine or my provider I can only say its Someone Elses Problem

UT was a bit better for me last night (although I was maskerading as Johnny 2 jags) ended up mid table in most, I think Im getting used to the lag a bit now.

Its just bloody good fun as far as Im concerned. Where does the time go tho, keep getting told off for spending too much time on line!

Anyone know wha drugs would knock the missus out for a few hours? actually, maybe I could find a better use for them...
