Depending where you are based, I know there are several stores in Chinatown that had more than one copy!!!
Just a thought
Andy
PS - be prepared to pay over the odds, prices were around £25.

It IS on DVD BUT the distributers are supposedly removing the english subtitles from the Region 3 one because too it was selling too well for export and they did'nt want to spoil the Region 1 or 2 sales.
Those lovely people at ERA the distributors of R3 Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon have confirmed that the next batch of CTHD DVDs will NOT have the English Audio track or English Subtitles.

Currently it is only available in Region 3, but will be released on R1 in a few months.
Be careful that you don't get one of the second batch of CTHD DVDs as these do not have any English subtitles.

AWD....
Doh! I only looked at the top half of your reply and posted quickly as I knew of a place with stock.
I then read the whole thread and saw your warning. Never mind, 2 warnings are better then none eh?
I also saw today on the DVDTimes BBS that the new Region 3 pressing will NOT have English Dub (as well as not having English subs)!

Yo,
I received my CTHD dvd on saturday and it has dubbed sountracks for cantonese, mandarin and english.
I just selected the original soundtrack and selected english subtitles...hey presto.
One word of warning though, the syncing between the subtitles and the spoken work got a little bit out towards the end.

Coolashop no longer have the English subtitled version.
The second pressing will be available from mid-March. However it will have English dubbing but no subtitles.
Current details:
Language: English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Thai
Subtitles: Chinese, Thai, Korean
IMO don't bother with the English dubbed version. Wait for the English subtitled version in a few months on R1.
WARNING:
=========
Also - there is a pirate region 0 (uncoded) version of CTHD doing the rounds. You'll probably see these on sale in various places for about £10-£20. They have no commentary, are prone to not working properly on some players, but are meant to look as clear and sound as good as the proper R3 version. You pays yer money and you takes yer chances with pirate copies. The kosher versions are only available as R3.

Don't forget that anything from overseas can be stopped by customs. If they do stop your packet (if it is over £18 in value and they notice it) they will add on another 22% in duties.

AWD,
It cost £21 delivered, assuming £1=$1.50
I'll have to wait for my CC bill to see the exact amount. Took 5 days from ordering to it dropping through my door.
Movietyme are offering the preorder price of £17 for the Region 1 release.

My copy of CTHD from dvdasian.com arrived last night. I can confirm that this is the genuine Region 3 disc with the Ang Lee commentary intact. I watched it all the way through and was very impressed.
Apparently the Region 1 version will be released on May 8th and Movietyme.com and Amazon.com are taking pre-orders already. Rumours are that the Region 1 and 3 releases will be identical.
