Come on Adam, we all know that you've not got just a 1.4 corsa so yours doesn't count.
just for the record ...
my corsa beat a CTR from about 10mph to say 70.....
i also beat a classic UK turbo wagon on the strip at crail....
roll on the 1.4 corsa

Lads,
Before you slate the CTR even more I'd suggest you have a
scan @ this thread

Wilf's post after the photos is often forgotten by the standard WRX bug eye owners.
I love scoobies and ain't interested in debating the relative merits. Yes you'll whip a CTR in the wet but remember "The Stig" took a CTR round a test track faster than a WRX.....
I'm sorely tempted by an RB5 or P1 but do 300 miles a week so fuel consumption is an issue.
Cheers

There are a lot of seriously ill-informed people on here:

Do, also, remember the fact that CTR drivers pay far less for more performance. Sure you can modify a Scooby. But hell, you could modify a Nissan Micra to outdrag a Ferrari if you had the time, money and stupidity. For a fixed budget, a Type R owner will have more cash to play with. 305bhp STi8? The current Mugen full package for the CTR produces 320bhp. It costs a fortune, but the basic CTR costs over £10k less than a PPP STi...
As for the standard car. I've certainly pulled cgood quantities of clear air between myself and a current WRX. My friend has a classic shape '99 Turbo and the two are absolutely evenly matched. The CTR also understeers less and has greater dry weather grip (his comments, not mine). I've also run the CTR against an S2000 from 40 up to 130 and the two were neck and neck.
