Question

There's nothing better (for me) than just doing exactly what I want, buying what I want, and just fooking off for 2wks around the country to visit friends, family, etc. without a care in the world
Agreed, its great............but after a while it wears off and you look for something more in life.

Unfortunately, as mentioned earlier you cannot plan for children. As I have learned, no two are the same and the experiences your friends relate will not necessarily be the same as you will encounter. Not many people talk openly about the downside of having children - stinky nappies, worrying when they get ill, lost social life etc ...

My children came relatively late in my life, 30 and 37. The first was not planned, but then if your giving it large and neither you or your wife is taking precautions something is bound to happen

As far as couples staying together goes, a bit of two-way open conversation can sometimes do the world of good.
