Just got the car back from having the Prodrive springs fitted. Looks a lot better and even though I havent been able to push it the ride seems better at lower speeds. Here are some not very good quality before and after pics

Can I ask how much the springs cost?
and how much to fit? (at a dealers?)
Does this effect warrenty?
I would be interested to hear what your passengers think to the new ride especialy at low speeds, e.g. around town.

If someone could please take measurements from the top of the wheel to the guard on both front and back of the bar before/after the springs have been fitted I'd really appreciate it. From the photos it doesn't look like it's actually dropped that much (although the car might need some time to settle onto the new springs)

The springs cost 165.96 + VAT = 195, not got invoice for labour yet but understand I will get charged 5 1/2 hours for fitting and full geometry setup.
Not sure if pictures show it very well but can now get two fingers between rear tyre and top of wheel arch and three fingers between front tyre and top of wheel arch. I'm sure before I could have got my fist in the gap in the front. I have 18" wheels so not sure what difference that makes. Can measure from wheel arch to ground if anyone is interested and also not sure if car needs to settle on the new springs.

No problem with warranty as they are official Prodrive parts purchased through Subaru dealer so has no affect. Also told insurance company and no change in premiums.

UK, I see you have mudflaps on yours. One thing that worried me a little was with the lowering if it meant the flaps would scrape along the deck when cornering. Did you have to adjust the mountings to raise them or where they ok as is.....

Fitz, No problems so far but havent done any over enthusiastic driving so time will tell. Had them put on the highest setting so hopefully will be OK.
If anybody is interested these are the measurements:
Middle of wheel arch to ground
Front: 66cms
Rear: 65cms

I was in my dealers today for my 1000 service on Sti8 and managed to get Prodrive on the phone at the same time to discuss Sti8 springs.
They were very helpful. The first myth to be discounted was that the now available Sti7 springs by Prodrive are NOT suitable for the Sti8.
The Sti8 springs are currently under development and baring any set backs will be available in 2 or 3 months.
I was told that the Sti8 springs availability will be e'mailed to the dealers via Subaru and so have asked my dealers to let me know when they are available & I will let them know if I know first. ( so I anyone finds out when they are ready please let me know)
Prodrive further confirmed that they were being developed to help with the firm ride and lower the ride hight.

Anyone want to comment on the important aspect - how they effect (improve hopefully) the handling? So the ride is improved? At low speed, high speed or both? How does it effect roll? Does it improve feel/feedback during corner? etc. etc.
Anybody?
Ta,
Matt
(I'm having mine fitted on the 17th so am curious to compare to other opinions on the drive (don't care how much they lower it by! ))

First impressions are very good bearing in mind I had classic Eibach's fitted in err by my dealer
Ride is Firm but still enough give(no need for gum shield) Great for the really Cr4p roads around my way. Only 27 miles since fitted will post Pictures and more detail report and measurements.

Had mine fitted since last Saturday. Ride noticeable firmer at lower speeds, but much more controlled over rough/undulating surfaces. Definite improvement and more comfortable. Turn in feels a little sharper.
Same applies on the motorway, less movement back through the steering wheel, so a little less effort required.
No real difference noticed when pressing on except the extra control means the car keeps its line better.
Haven't really pushed it too hard yet round the famous Forest B roads so that's all I can comment on so far

The links are right James as I can open them in a seperate browser. Perhaps the Community website you're using doesn't allow linking from other sites.....

James,
Good pics won't need to post mine as yours is cleaner
My handling and ride comfort has definately improved I first thought it may have been a bit soft I think approx measurement are Front -25mm and Rear -27mm.
All I need now is solid droplinks, anti-rollbar and ATD system
