RB5320-I may try and check it out?If I get a test drive I will post on here. You are also right about residuals. The RS will probably gain value for a bit due to demand but will decrease very slowly after that.If the RS is that good then the focus cosworth should be a stormer if it ever comes to fruition!
Could the cosworth focus be the car to defrone the all mighty evo?I would like to think so due to the time it has taken to develope it but we will have to see!
I will be very interested to read about it when it eventually gets tested!

LOL Kranky sounds like your are on a right winner if you are an IT Contractor snigger do you have to have a mortgage too ROFLMAO Never mind son beggers can't be choosers should of got yourself an education at school. I was being kind Kranky the 200 bhp scoob's are useless thats why I compared to a 280 bhp which is still as quick as milkfloat.

Funny Brunhilda I think you will find that the Focus is far better built than the scoob and has a far better image.

Saff cossies are quite well screwed together and worth more than a scoob 5 years newer so whats your point ?

Panels are screwed together, it's just the rust of the panels that seems to be the problem. I personally prefere the styling of the post 98 scoob to a Saphcos, but if the choice came down to choosing between a pre 98 and a cos, Henry would have to win. I couldn't live with the drabness of the interior.
My answer..............i bought a MY99.

I would like to see a R/R print out of co55ie's car to see if it has the power he talks about.

Co55ie why do you keep saying out of the box scoobys are slow don't handle, i think they are a good all round performer. i was a ford man having every rs badged car and all of them out of the box are sloppy and slow even my brand new 2wd shappie. Its not untill you start tunning them that they start living up to the performance people talk about. No one is saying cosworth's ant tunable thay are i could of not sold my cossie and spent 5-10k on the engine and had 300-500bhp and like you go one every non ford web site and start winding people up. I grew up and moved on and the car was geting older and out of date in my eyes , you say people should not reply but you should not post silly threads. i had a fiesta turbo with 190bhp with 205-40-16 and the wheel spin and torque steer was silly and most of the time scary so a focus with 212bhp with 18s is going to even worse but im sayind noting till i drive the demo car at ford where my mate works.
Every body should chill out stop puting silly threads up and replys, cars are very personal things.

Sorry scoob owners your jealous.
Name me a better car for 20k thats on the market today. LOL I am glad you are jealous
Your scoob's are so ninties now have fun in your council estate specials.

Richard Pon judging by the sorry state of your shed its no wonder cossie owners get a bad name why buy a cossie if you can't afford to run it which you obviously can't. Did I say the RS Focus was better than evo ? No I said it was a great package for 20k which it is if I don't like it I will probably be able to sell it on with no lose. Richard why don't you buy a scoob you can a nearly new one for £200 evn you should be able to afford this. Maybe you could run a masterclass in manifold design to scrap up the extra cash if your shelf stacking job doesn't pay enough. As you seem to know as much about manifolds as you do everything else. NOTHING

To my imitator I trust you realise that imitation is the highest form of flattery .

I can't wait to nume scoob's in my RS next March/April time think my rims will be worth more than a 6 month old WRX alone. ROFLMAO

LOL your jealousy is not becoming.
Still I shoudn't mock the afflicted should I.

Love Cossie the scooby spanker

Just to let you all know that where I live the RS has arrived (just about time) and saw one last night in the show room. Also I had put a deposit down for this car, but 2 month ago I decided this wasn't going to be the replacement of the Escort Cossie.

I have read most of the car mags and most of them seem quite happy with it. But only on dry roads, wet roads it is a different story.

Well saw the RS last night, you have to admit it looks great. Asked the guy to put the engine on, nice noise but nothing special. But guess what the engine was already having problems to switch on, the light in the dash stayed on. Inside I would say it is just too much.
But the worst point was the paint quality, orange peel over the entire bodywork. Even the Ford dealer wasn't impressed and was going to ask Ford if this was normal.

Yes Co55ie it only costs 20K but it doesn't have any options. Only 2 airbags etc...
I think a Subaru WRX/R32/147GTA are a much better buy. I will probably go for the R32.
Many German mags tested the RS vs R32 guess wich one was in front all the way.....R32. The RS only keeped up with it till 60mph, at least it will see the nice exhaust it has!!!
Probably the RS will be faster on a track. But I don't think this is very important for my personal use.

But my Ford dealer convinced me to try the RS out before I go for the R32.

Thing is mate the WRX will only be worth about 10k in 6 months time from new so to be honest these cars need to be avoided like the plague for financial reason's
I allready own another car that offers total ***** out performance and consider the RS to be a great package thats fun and it just aint going to depreciate for the first year so is a wise choice in my opinion financially. At the end of the day its a cheap car that looks like a lot of fun that can also NUKE a scoobie round the twisties. And all for under 20k.

C'mon Tea Cosy

You dont half talk cack. Any fool can quote stats and this is where you excel. Bottom line is I reckon all of the scooby owners could out drag your rust rocket on our push bikes.

With regard to the F1 issue....I understand that 'Team ****' are entering a team next year fronted by you with the very latest in design engineering based on a 'square box ford shape'

F1 teams spend millions but you go and prove them wrong.

By the way..the RS sucks and I would whip it's 'RS'

Red face

Can't believe I just read this thread!

Loads of rubbish in here

Marios GTR has well over 1000bhp, and whilst I don't know a GTR which has run faster than a 3.12 second 0-60 - I don't think any of the really big power GTR's have done timed 0-60. Also Craig, comparing the handling of Ronnies road suspension, full weight GTR against a stripped out, serious suspensioned RS...

As to the Focus RS - I'll reserve judgement until I drive one.

Anyway I think a lot of other marques will be very surprised by the GTR's at next years events

Still won't be as good saph's I guess

The only thing Cossie is going to spank in the real world is his monkey.

LOL at the idiot. It would be nice to hear him drivel on about something else instead. Sounds like a boring broken record.

LOL your only jealous as I keep saying cos my daily shopping car will spank your sheds into oblivion.
The scoob is so ninties now its just old hat just look at the Max Power Image get with times and get an RS Focus. I know you all want one and you know it yourselves.
The RS is a much better car than any 20k scoob look at the performance of a WRX is there actually any ? If you want a car that performs like this why not go for a mondeo or vectra cars that have a far better image and performance than a boy racer scoob.
Your the ********* not me Did I buy a shed no you did. ROFLMAO.
The anticipation of blitzing scoobs in my Focus is really something to savour and the reality will be more satifying still as I scream past your poor handling scoob's round the twisties

When you talk about devalueing council estates, cosmeticly theres not much difference between yours and a 1.8 ztech (there are some though), theres a ford in EVERY street

The Scoob will always gain the respect of a very high % of motorists
