i have just recieved a copy of marks agreement with zymol in the USA plus a copy of his companies incorporation.

I checked this certificate with the records at companies house and all the dates and history tie up with the documents and what mark told me on the phone.

I am very unhappy about this situation. Mark clearly did have a contract with zymol in the USA back in april 1999.

Chuck bennett has not been totaly truthfull with me on this, even if the current state of play is that they have had a dispute and the contract has been terminated, he told me they did not have a contract last year.

I will post more on my feelings about this later as i have an urgent problem at work.

All i can say at the moment is that zymol uk is a registered company at the address in plymouth we all know, and did have a contract mid last year with zymol in the USA.

I'd be really interested to hear the outcome of this, having bought some of the products myself.

As a few points of observation, my Auto Wash looks exacltly like the images on the US website and works brilliantly doing everything its supposed to; the HD Clense looks exacltly like the packaging on the US website (although I've not used it yet) as does the carbon wax (again, not had the chance to use it yet).

All towels and applicators appear exactly as they do on the US website.

Seems to me that if this stuff is all fake, someone is going to increadible lengths to hide the fact! with my kit came literature and a small plastic packet of the unrefined wax. Additionally, Mark has been most helpful, going way beyond the call of duty to help us out.

If I was going to sell counterfeit goods, I certainly wouldn't go to those lengths.

Would also say that the zymol products smell like no other's I've ever come accross in 15 odd years of car cleaning, so I doubt its a re-bottled proprietry brand.

It seems to me that for whatever reason Zymol uk has had a major falling out with Zymol us and the US's comments about all european products being fake is simply to destroy customer confidence in those markets so we all go out and buy new stuff direct from the US.

Anyway, is there really that much money to be made from faking car waxes?

Look forward to hearing Marks side of things.

Guys,

I would fully expect Zymol UK to have some form of agreement with the US. I think the point at the moment, is wether or not counterfeit products have been supplied. This situation could occur, regardless of any agreement/contract.

I don't know if it's just me, as my industry is plaged with counterfeit product, but "hypothetically speaking", taking a stand at a show, loading it up with legitimate product, for all to see, demonstrating how good it is, probably getting a marketing contribution from the manufacturer, and then supplying a "substituted" product to later inquiries, seems very clever to me.

I would imagine that clever marketing on a web site, would also prove fruitful.

Most people who have bought "Zymol" products, appear to be over the moon with the results. I wonder what results they would get, from any good quality branded products, if they put the same time, and effort into cleaning, and polishing their cars. Who on earth would normally spend a whole day doing the job.

It's going to take quite some time to find out the truth. It will be interesting to hear the explanation about branded products, that the manufacturer claims not to make, and the products that are made outside the US.

Mark.

I use Zymol products supplied by Mark and will continue to use them. They are the best car care products I have ever used and are worth every penny as they appear to last forever! I wonder why it took Zymol USA this long to warn people about the 'fake products' as they must have known about it for months? Maybe they should reimburse all those people 'taken in' to buy 'bogey' products as they could have warned us all sooner!

Its a shame that someone so devoted to a product as Mark obviously is has to defend themselves in this way. Anybody that has dealt with Mark and used the Zymol waxes etc that he provides know how good he and it is.

I hope this mess sorts itself out soon, without too much damage.

ditto Steve...

I have no concerns whatsoever.. In the pharma industry (which Im currently wandering around) millions are made by parallel importers - so fakes are possible. They arent really fakes however, just not 'official'....

Mark has been consistently excellent in both customer care, service and general response. The products are excellent and work superbly.

>>I am very unhappy about this situation

why ? and you're not alone..why is this such a "big issue" ?

anyone with any sense would realise Mark isnt a fly-by-night outfit.

let it work itself out, the fact that Mark hasnt posted (when he's always helpful and prompt) speaks volumes to me....he hasnt cos he can't..

... and another thing - Mark has always been probably the most helpful and supportive of all the advertisers on this website... he has a genuine interest in the BBS and not 'as potential customers' either but as people... he is a genuinely nice man .....and at the moment he is very busy.

Webmaster please lock this thread.

I have spoken to Phil today, who has spoken to Mark. The situation between Zymol USA and Zymol UK is now between the parties concerned. There is obviously something very wrong here as Mark has a contract with Zymol USA.

Thread is now closed.
