Recieved mine today via UPS, hopefully yours are either on their way or waiting at home. I think they have the 4k stocks ok but not sure of the 6k kits, may depend on what you've ordered...

Fitted mine today.
As always, I modified the kit a bit
The loom is universal, and both sides have the same length wiring but of course the wiring run is longer to the offside. It would have just about reached but would have meant the relay being behind the rad and I don't stick them in exposed positions like that
I cut about 18" off the N/S loom at the battery connections end, and added that to the O/S loom that I cut the eyes off the end of(soldered and heatshrinked the joints) then crimped a couple of more eyes on the shortened N/S loom.
Worthy points to note for those that have still to fit:
On the O/S, stick the ballast to the bottom of the air filter box with the sticky pads already fitted, and make sure it is electrical connections DOWN to keep water out.
Tuck the relay in the corner of the inner wing under the air filter inlet trunking to keep it out of water coming through the grille.
On the N/S, the ballast is best stuck to the battery to the left of the clamp (connections down again). The relay can be tie-rapped to the metal vacuum pipe to the left of the back of the headlamp (connections down again).
My biggest concern was leaving the back of the xenon capsule open to the elements - the standard plastic cap that goes on the back of the bulb will not fit with the xenon capsule as you can't get the connections through the small hole that the standard wiring grommet locates into. I pushed the grommet out of the back of the cap, carefully enlarged the hole with a 4mm drill so I could get the wiring connections out of the cap, then enlarged the hole in the cap with a cone drill to about 25mmm and fitted a large rubber grommet with a 10mm or so hole in it. The ballast wires then went through the grommet so I could refit the standard plastic cap back on to protect the back of the capsule from water.
The ballast and all other spade connectors were taped to keep damp out.
Haven't had the chance to try them out in the dark yet

Hi Dave
I did the same but I'm still concerned about the back of the capsule without grommets. I've put some resin putty there at the moment which provides a seal but can be removed easily, but its temporary at best. Any ideas for a permanent fix?
Also tried them through some very dark and rainy welsh mountain roads on the weekend, and although they're brighter than halogens I think I'm going to have to play with their throw of the light, I found it better if I dipped the lights to setting 1, but it still threw a lot of light to the left, and not as much as I would have thought to the front of the car. I did double check that the HID's were in straight...honest... but alas I think I'll have to play some more. Be interested to see how yours work out.
Incidentally anyone else found this at all?

Adair,
The new HID Bulbs come with grommets that you should use when you have enlarged the hole.
Dont forget your head lights are set to the left so there is bound to be more light on that side

What I have done will stop water getting in - I have refitted the original plastic bulb cover as described above.

What grommets?! - there were none in my kit.......

Nope no grommets
Autolamps are you listening??
Anyone else had no grommets? Is it perhaps only the latest batches to come out, as I'm sure in Goons post he had grommets also, but these were all before Autolamps break, as I believe were yours Jacey.

Just managed to fit mine.
I also stuck my ballast for the drivers side on the airbox and the passenger side on the battery.
I also did not get any gromets in my kit

Can confirm that these lights give a significant improvement on dark lanes ROb took me for a run last night after getting his fitted, and I'm impressed.
The side by side comparison of the cars was quite dramatic, especially the colours on objects illuminated by the lights. Mine (standard) looked positively yellow in comparison, and much dimmer.

I can assure they are no disco, they are superb and if you saw them you would be amaized, they stand out much bright on the road than normal BMW & Merc HID's.
As for MOT cars with HID's should have light washers, but I doubt MR MOT man would even pick it up

Got my Hylow kit this morning, looks quite easy to fit, but I have a couple of questions.
Where have other people mounted the control box for the O/S lamp, seems that the only place it can be located is behind the front bumper.
Does the battery neg wire from the ballast have to be attached to the Battery Neg Terminal, or can you attach them to earthing points on the vehicle body, the instructions seem a bit vague to me, or am I been vague?????
Can’t wait to get them fitted though, it will be nice to see where I’m going in the dark!!

Hi Guys
Well, it looks like I joined the party a little too late and missed the Group Buy. However, I'm sure they'll put another one together will they not - hope so - if so can I have some details please.
Had a cracking long conversation on the phone with Janet @ Autolamps today; a thoroughly informative lady - Thanks Janet, you'll remember me as Joe who didn't know that my BMW headlights were known as "Angel Eyes" - I just thought they were lights with rings around them - Doh !!!
Anyway, Janet was a pleasure to speak with (a credit to you Nick). She told me that the H7 6000K kits are all allocated at the moment but should be back in stock within the next 2 weeks, which suits me fine 'cos I'm on holiday for a week from Friday, scuba, not scoobie diving in the Red Sea, but definitely plan a purchase when I get back, and even hopefully, if we can get another Group Buy together save some more dosh - what do you reckon guys?
Also, has anybody alse fitted on of these kits to a BMW (E39) 5 series, as since connections have to go to the battery, my battery is in the boot and Janet told me that I should have connections under the bonnet of my car - any ideas where they and what they look like 'cos it is not too clear on my Owners Manual.
Cheers for anybody's help in advance.
