yes mellow, thats what i was lead to believe, they are driving lights on imprezas not fog lights.
The real issue for me is wallies with REAR fog lights on when its not foggy, not front ones. They look like brake lights on heavy traffic on motorways and then consequently slows all traffic and properly dazzles any1 behind them.

Agreed about turning them off during the day or normal night driving. Thats NOT what they are for.
I often use them on unlit country roads at night, but turn them off when there is oncoming traffic, just like you dip your main headlight beam. Nothing wrong with that, surely its safer if you can see more.
