I'm after a 283mm disc kit + carbon metallic pads for my XR4i track car, so if the group buy can improve on the £250 Ian quoted me, I'm in if that will help

I could be interested..

I'm looking for disks / pads for definate for MY97 two pots.
Could be tempted by 4 pot calipers too if the price is right, and my main concern, if they will fit under my wheels. (16" speedline - I think)

Any idea on prices etc?

Cool

Shaggy, prices are on page 1 mate. I wouldn't waste my time going for the pads and discs, I did this and barely got any improvement on MY97 Turbo. A Waste of a couple of hundred quid. Get straight in with the 4 pots!! I'm also concerned about them fitting behind my 17" Speedlines but I've mailed Ian @ Godspeed direct for confirmation.

Garry, assuming Ian comes back to me and gives the thumbs up, I'll be a definite for the 325mm 4 pot kit, drilled discs and mintex pads. Callipers to be coloured blue. I'll also have the braided hoses and a litre of the 5.1 fluid. Will you confirm where and when we need to send the cheques on this thread?????

Ian won't want to sell you drilled discs if you do a lot of trackdays - he recommends just grooved

Mine stil work well, and Ian says there's not a problem running with cracked discs, but thats not what my main dealer said!

On the web site it says £550, not £575 for the 308 kit.

I would go in on this anyway but i went metal to metal today(doh!) and need to order tomorrow (Wed)

i hve the standard 4 pots is it worth going for the disks and calipers would they work better or should i go for the disks

i have seen the disks with the standard calipers and i am not sure if i like the look of them as the pads overhang the calipersand so i dont think they look that neat and so do the supplied calipers look and fit better

If you are doing track days or a hard driver you will eventually get heat crazing/cracks in your discs , it doesn't matter what make they are it will happen , it may take a while to appear , if you have cross drilled discs the cracks will be bigger around the holes , this is why I recommend grooved only for hard use or track days , small cracks in the discs will not give you any problems but if they crack across the face of the discs they need changing ,

We were going to offer the group buy for kits only and not standard sized discs but if you are short on numbers , you can make up the numbers with discs , sorry subaru only .

Front discs
277mm discs retail £150 group buy £135
294mm discs retail £175 group buy £160

rear discs
Solid discs retail £125 group buy £110
vented discs retail £145 group buy £130

XSOOOBY , on the 335mm kit you have seen the pads we supply in this kit are not pads designed for the subaru caliper , we use a much bigger pad , because the pad is much bigger it is in fact slightly too big which is why the pads overhang slightly on the outer edge , we have looked into having a pad specially made to suit this kit perfectly but it would add £75 to the set of pads !!

For those wanting fitting we can offer this as well.

Cheers Ian

no Fords allowed then

as it's awaiting a new back axle, I'm not in a rush for the discs, just thought I might help you get the numbers up

I don't need discs for my Subaru right now - got a spare set in the garage

Gaz

Think you need to read my post above mate.

My Impreza needs some money spent on it which is going to prevent me from taking part in the group buy.

Sorry, but not a lot I can do about it. Car or brakes without car?

Nathan..

I'm in for the 308mm kit, grooved, gold calipers.

Ian, i had inquired about this kit for my Forester during summer but i kind of neglected it due to summer vacation etc.etc. Just confirm me the payment method (i do have your bank details) for shipping to Greece. Details will follow.

Regards,

George

Go for it guys! I've had Ians 294mm std disks (drilled and grooved) and mintex 1144 pads (now doing sterling service on another Scoobynetter's car) and now the huge 335kit with Greenstuff pads and have to say Ian's kit is just what my car needed! Dinner plates anyone?!?!? :-)

I'm tempted to get new grooved rears to match my fronts but funds are short now, shame really.

Anyway - get these.... you wont be dissapointed, also I had mine fitted at Ian's - I'm sure someone will put a link in to my post on my thoughts about the whole process, was posted late August this year if you wanna search for it.

Jon.
