I'd forgotten "real" gobstoppers. OMG!!
The sweetie stall in the market closed down abt 6 months back. Shame. All the old style newsagents here seem to have been taken over by Asians, and now sell everything EXCEPT loose sweets. I don't blame the Asians, they serve a need, and I've been glad of the local Spar when I've had one or two and it's still open late at night when I couldn't drive to Tesco.
Pineapple chunks! Olde English! Sour Apples! (that stuck together and to the bag if you didn't eat 'em within a couple of hours), 3 different types of bonbon!!
Tea time I think. Or dinner if you Southerners would prefer.

My Gran used to run a sweet shop. All the jars and everything.
Now she's sold it about 25 years ago and it was a corner shop for ages. Now converted to posh houses
