You know tyhe ones I mean? The ones with rows of large glass/plastic bottles across a shelf behind the counter, where you could buy amazing stuff like "Rainbow Crystals", Bon-bons, Sherbet Lemons, Midget Gems, Sports Mixture, Sweet Peanuts, Cola cubes, etc, etc,.
Not to mention "Sherbet Fountains", Cowan's toffee, etc, along the counter.
Our local sweet shop *** newsagent has now set up to sell groceries, and the sweets have gone!!!!
I went on a bit of a trawl round, as, for some reason, I REALLY had a longing for Sherbet Lemons, but no shops appear to sell loose sweets anymore.
Is it just this useless town, or is the same pattern repeating everywhere? If so, WHY????

Cool

If you are in need of a fix, I can recommend Roly's shop in Caistor market place (in between the newsagent and post office). Its a 20 min drive from Scunny and you will be impressed not only with their vast selection of loose sweets including the under the counter hard midget gems, but also that you can get your hair cut there, ask advice on fishing, and buy some cartridges/bullets for your guns..........

Sorry! I've been wanting some of those Atomic Fireballs for ages. But if I'm going to make an order, I figure I might as well make it a bulk job. So I might do it myself next week.

Cool

Browsing through there, I'm starting to wonder how much it would cost to just give 'em the credit card number and an email saying "some of everything, please".

Mark you horrible man!

Been looking for somewhere that sold a couple of the things they have.

Combine it with this one

http://www.sugarboy.co.uk/

and there probably isn't much you can't get.

Thanks

Robin

For those who want to click: http://www.sugarboy.co.uk/.

Another good link. The one thing I can't seem to find are the little squidgy pink & white mushrooms. Anyone found them yet?

When i was a youngster () my local sweetie was shut down over allegations of selling drugs!

My favourites were cola cubes, pear drops and cinnamon drops

I though they had a big sweetie stall in Scunny market?

Failing that I'll buy some and Raze Buzz and I will come over with them (any opportunity to get back to my stamping ground!)

Yes and we miss you in there, Crush.

The Market near me also has a sweet stall where you can get bags of the old-style sweets.
