Default The spoiler is staying........... so far

Hey Andy

Have a poll on SIDC at the moment where I'm letting the masses decide my spoilers fate.

So far is about 2-1 in favour of keeping the original. Have to admit I'm surprised as a pretty basic wing in terms of lack of detailing (ie brake lights etc)

Exciting times - but if I dont change it then I'll get a new DV for replacement of the Baileys - want something HKS ish (super sound probably).

As an update only 130 miles to go before my first oil change Still worried out the red light scenario from the AFR, though the Knocklink is quiet as a mouse so far (probably needs fettling for accurate reading when WOT comes).

PNB - the flare in mine went off with temper tantrum at big end bearing failure LOL!! Nah, kidding - never there when I got car - now it holds a torch.

Hi Marky

Glad to hear it is all coming along well. Best if you never see anything on the Knocklink of course, I get the occasional green light or two so quite happy about that. The AFR won't mean too much until you can use WOT so that will be a while yet maybe. The lights will flicker around under normal cruising as it tries to run stoichiometric mixtures anyway. I stick with Optimax without booster and it seems ok. The boost will reach 1.1 bar which suits me fine.

Default The result is in.....

the V1 Spoiler stays

7 out of 10 SIDC members said it should stay as is. So, a man of my word it stays.

Les - that stoicho.... too big a word for me to know even what it means But it sounds bloody impressive.

Plan to finish my miles this weekend, get the oil changed, then out and gradually build up to WOT over the next 2000 miles. Dont want to **** the engine so soon

Smile Glad some folks are finding the thread again

Hi exess, how are you doing? dare I ask what you've done to the car in the last few months LOL!

Well, finished my 1'000 miles and did my oil change to mineral oil 15/40 GTX hile mileage stuff. Told to use it for another 2'000 miles before going onto synthetic again. So I can now gradually increase the old revs above 3'500 so I can finally see what this ScoobyECU is all about.

Not done much to car other than re-route my earthing cables, and same with the afr and knocklink. Made a little plate to try and make it look better - the knocklink is pure ugly IMO.

Managed to finally find instructions for my Kenwood DPX-440 double din headunit. Glad to say I word nearly all the features by myself already, but its cool to have them anyway

Not sure what to do next, however my girlfriend say I should try driving it instead of constantly having it off road. She has a point

As for site - got 20/200 from the trader, and Coulty has found 67/100 on this site for sale - so I'm away to mail the guy and hope we can add his to the register.

Take care folks,
Mark

Incidentally, is anyone going to this years NBO?

No 113/200 on the cards. More updates and links.

Not done much to car except paint my steering wheel! The disklok was rubbing the colouring off at one corner, so Halford interior paint and sealer to the rescue.

Looking forward to a local run at Loch lomond where approx 60 cars are planned for a run - 50 of them scoobs! Cool

Still not doing much mileage, plus MOT is due in early June - lucky me

Not yet Andy - my heart just aint in it to sell the old girl and do it with any conviction. One drive and I remember why I bought it;D Think its been since my rebuild I've been paranoid over every little click, whirr clunk and thump. Its takes the edge off the experience a bit.

However, I'm converting to Honda as every day goes by. The VTEC is a howler! Love the ATR!!

So for the forseeable, my old girl stays locked in the garage.

Talking Whats been happening?

Thought I'd give a quick update - seeing as its 18th May since I last posted on this thread

Well, had 2nd engine failure that was admirably rectified by API Davids squad (cheer yet again David ). David also gave me a few sensors to allow me to hopefully rectify the overfuelling problem. Also, a nice shiny centre section to try out.

Whilst away I met the handsome 'Luke C' and gorgeous little girlfriend from SN, and purchased his shiny FIRESTORM backbox So I finally got one.

Also, bought Walboro uprated fuel pump and FSE regulator from Mark @ lateral performance (excellent service and advice )

Got a univeral lambda sensor from a site that I cant even remember - again, original is probably well gubbed!

So, what now?

Fit exhaust bits, lambda, throttle and idle sensors. Then off to Mr Andy F for a check up, then hopefully shes back on the road again.... then i can sell her with a clear conscience and buy NickATR's superclean ATR

Maybe Leslie will express and interest in the register by this point - if he ever reads his PM

Other than that - I'm going on me holiday soon

Hello guys,

steppers - have pics etc thanks. As you'll probably not have noticed last update was early May - reason being I lost total interest in the car and all things Subaru after my 2nd engine failure (see above), tried to sell the car even!!! ....bought an ATR (relax Nick, I still want yours for myself ) and have been enjoying driving that (the very few times the bird has ever given me it back). Hence, no updates since then. Combine this with a very enjoyable social life - you get the picture. Plus is was costing me ridiculous amounts of money contacting owners/garages from UK and abroad who promise pictures etc.. and never bother their backside Its pretty thankless. However, I do apologise to those awaiting inclusion.

Now though - the car engine is repaired and I'm in process of getting the overfuelling issue sorted out. So, I'm slowly getting the burble interest back

Short of that, not much else to add. I'll try and get back into it, though no promises as I've got a holiday and pretty hectic work rate at the moment

Leslie - read your PM. I think your the man for this

No 1 of 100 belongs to a guy in Scotland and there are pictures and details on your own site Marky_San. Why do you say you have never heard of a 200 run when you also have some of them on your very own site. ???????

No 1 of 100 is owned by Mr Andy Porter. I know this already.

You've completely lost me on the '200' part of this? I have a load of them on a specific page on my site, and both the '100' and '200' are mentioned on my introductory page. This thread has mentions of lots of them that I or others have found.

Please explain what your on about!

This is an earlier post from you.

Never heard of the 200 run, but maybe they had a few of them - who knows? Crazy japs!

Liked the idea of the 100 cars out to dealers, only problem is the plaque actually says the month and year, which I'd imagine would go on when completed? I dunno - its one for STi to answer - think I'll drop them a mail and see if I can get anywhere with the query. I think everyones car has the same sort of set up, so I dont think theres anything to worry about - sure theres a good explanation for it.

So now we have:

no 24
no 25
no 45
no 66 MIA

Cool!

Thumbs down 16th September 2002!!!

See that date above - thats when I wrote it.

Thats before I had even heard of the '200' run and there was only a handful known of the 100's.

Thats before the idea of the register existed.

I'll leave you to read the the other 380 posts over the 20 pages since then.

So, its you that isnt on the ball as your reading posts nearly 2 years ago !!!

Unhappy A fond farewell to 'The Original STI Register'

Hello folks,

Sadly, time has been called on my current website http://members.lycos.co.uk/markysan1970/ and the powers that be have deemed it too popular to remain as is. D-Day is in 5 days (Feb 27th 05) - so if you want pictures, info or handsome pictures of my Adidas promotion - then you have my permission to take them.

This, combined with the sad loss of my 025 car due to impending fatherhood (only 3 weeks and a few days woohoo!!)..... usual, need 4 doors, softer suspension, quieter exhaust, no turbo boost, whooshes whistles or screaches. So a rather pretty Accord Type R with take care of me and little Honda for a few years. Though, mark my words - I will return to Impreza-dom in the future. The burble is in the blood

Just wanted to take the opportunity to thank everyone for their time and effort in the creation of 'The Original STI Register'. In that time ( 2 years and 2 months) with the help of a few excellent friends (you know who you all are) we managed to find:

- approx 30 cars each of the '100 Run' and '200 Run'.
- possibly identified that there were 2 runs of the 200 cars - though evidence was extremely patchy to say the least
- eliminated a further 2 cars as fakes
- help a many souls who plain just didnt know the difference from a WRX and a WRX STI
- discovered no.1/100 out there (though sadly now got a dodgy engine from what I read - for god sakes dont break the car!!)
- got a car owner from OZ, though sadly no one from Japan. The rest were all round the UK and nearby islands.
- got over 13,000 hits - mostly by me LOL!! ....kidding
- spent a fortune in time and money trying to collate info - rewarding and frustrating all in one!!
- met and spoke to some great owners - Trem, Andy, Leslie... the list goes on.

But hell, it all helped boost my experience and knowledge of the cars.

I have definitely enjoyed the time - and hopefully this thread will remain for all future 'searchers' out there to gather some info on, or trace some other owners. Worst case, you could contact me and we can shoot the breeze on my old car, knowledge and a pile of info I have.

Been a pleasure folks!

Take care,
Marky-San
