I have a suspicion there are more 'runs' of the cars, and that may explain why some of the dates on the plaques i.e. mine is No.25 May 94, yet No.43 is March (off top of my head). It would be the best reason also to explain subtle differences in ECU codes between the cars.
I'm going to examine the dates and try and see if they there is a pattern to it. As I said its a possibility, unfortunately no one seems to be interested from Subaru Japan
Its doing my head in.

Well folks,
Just noticed thats a year the register has been running. Doesn't time fly by when you arent looking. [rose tinted specs on mode/] Only seems like yesterday when there was only 4 I knew off .....LOL [specs off]
Did some updates of the new cars 58 and 134 so you can see them. Unfortunately I only have trader pic of 58! 134 is a very nice car - hey, aint they all? ;-)
Duncan!! Excuse my total lack of manners - hello mate, welcome to V1 ownership. Always good to hear from new owners - hope Steve treated her well before selling it on to you. I'll drop you a mail soon;-)
Well, my own car is back on the road - or should I say back in my garage. The car is needing some tuning fettling as its not running quite rightly just yet - may wait for the ScoobyECU then see if it helps once its mapped properly to the car.
API engines did a very good job, great service - never felt pressured or hassled into a decision by David (the owner). His advice was a breath of fresh air in comparison to many places I've dealt with over the years. If the worst should ever happen - I can only recommend you check API out first, before the others. You pay alittle extra - but when you get down to the £value of the rebuild - its a proper job done, without silly add on incentives. Its no-nonsence approach. David - if read this..... 'Thank you!'.
The decat is on - and its slightly more grumbly than usual.... I think when I get my 1000 miles over, and the car feels right to take a bit higher - then its gonna be alot louder
ScoobyECU as I said is on the cards, so I'm hoping it rectify's my overboost problem to some extent, although a fellow V1 amigo (John) is still having some grief with his Hopefully he'll get it sorted out and can enjoy the car the way its meant to be enjoyed
Anyway, better go - some of us still have to work.
Been a good year - heres hoping next year is as fruitful as the last

Thought I'd post, as it's been awhile...
Mine finally passed the dreaded MOT a few weeks back, although it needed £600 of work New rear suspension bushes, as well as a new up-pipe to replace the original leaking one, plus a replacement lambda sensor, finally got the emissions down to a reasonable level. Still experiencing an intermittent mis-fire, main culprit would be the replacement NGK plugs I installed awhile ago, planning to change them this week to see if this helps.
Also passed the magic (??!) 100,000 mile mark this month, beginning to realise just how many miles I've added to the car in nearly 4 years.
And sadly, I've begun to make plans for her replacement : as much as I love the car, it's getting to the age where using it as a daily driver is starting to cost too much. Looking into a Audi S8/S6 as a replacement, but it'll be a couple of months before it happens. Hopefully enough time for me to finish my ScoobyMonitor, as well as get around to my ECU remapping plans !
Happy New Year to all

Hey boxer - how are you doing? Has indeed been a while
100,000 miles is a good record by any standard - wonder how much fuel that equates too?? LOL!! Alot
Good choice of audis there- a guy a work has the audi RS6(? thinks its called) - and its a lovely car. Yeah, I think theres definately a point of no return (monetary) for our types of car where the output expenditure balanced against the day2day worth becomes increasing larger. Also, everyone just wants a change after a while. Whoever gets you car will have a well looked after/sorted car.
What have i been upto lately?? Few things.... ScoobyECU board due to arrive any day, then its packed off with the ECU for fitment and a standard map of some sort - but for me it needs to do 2 things - help fuel cut and give me UK fuel 97 ron accessibility. Since the cause of death of my engine was detonation - so its a focus for me. I'm monitoring Trem's ECU experience so we can compare results.
Next up is my earthing kits bits and bobs arrived (inspired by Exess's endeavours) - so I need to learn how to solder..... god help me and the car
Making a bracket for the metal coolant tank - so I need to learn how to use a grinder without kneecapping myself Also, need so extra length hoses as the originals I'm reliably told are too short - so autostore here I come (again). Incidentally, Vehicle Wiring Products website link shipped me items ordered yesterday afternoon and I got them this morning - fast and friendly, good for fiddly bits for cars
Car still isnt running right as the throttle sensor voltage still needs adjusted, however just found out my regular mechanics son has a 'select monitor' with the right module for programming - COOL!!
Take care folks,
Marky-San

Hi Mark, hows it going chum? I'm slightly worried about there being another 58/100 on your register, maybe the owner of the other '58' could show us a picture of his plaque(ooooh errrr).
Did I spell plaque as in tooth plaque? Ah well.

Hi Andy - yeah, will hopefully be staying at a plush B&B hopefully. Never been but really looking forward to it - i'm convoying down there with another Mark - on my site the Harlequined FTO in 'Sans mates' - which is sure to be a crowd puller. Incidentally, where is Billing anyway? Where you going to be - are you taking car? If so, we could meet up for a wee while which would be pretty cool!
dpb - yeah the rear seats are a right pain in the rear, arent they? Whats this windsurfin malarky - are you trying to squeeze the board in as well LOL!! Not sure if its worth trying to unhook it to be honest - if you have anything big to transport, use someone elses car is my recommendation
Tomorrow night folks, i will be mainly trying to learn to solder....... and you lot though I was jesting LOL!!! Bought my solder iron & wire from homebase tonight - so I'm ready to go!!
Ah the joys of Impreza-dom.

Hi Marky
Just seen the posts about 134/200 and the pictures. Guy has checked the model number on his car and it is correct and all the other items seem correct as well. I have not been able to ask him to look at the Turbo to I/C pipe yet though. Just checked mine and it is metal. That was a new one on me.
Certainly seems strange about the double numbering business. As far as we can see, Guy's is also a genuine STI 1.

Yeah was for a little while Andy - currently learning the art of gif making
Well, car is still sitting in garage - no notable snow to go out and have fun with - however I have zymol'd the whole car again, so it smells summery
Finally finished the earthing kit - what a PITA the ECU one was - I knocked the gromet out the bulkhead and it was sore trying toget down to it, never mind refit the blasted thing. However, its in now.
refitted my Baileys DV - removed the L bend as those of you on the site would've probably seen I wasnt happy with the fitting of it - no its alot better looking AND isnt touch the hot turbo housing.
Sizing up the coolant tank now - but to be honest its too cold to be in the garage (even if it has some heating....... yeah, so I'm a woosey git LOL!).
Pending items of me are two new front calipers (for my civic - 253 a piece from Honda!! www.brakeparts.co.uk here I am - 80 a piece to my door), impreza insurance and tax at eh same time!! Why do I do this to myself every year???
Later folks,
Marky-San

Latest news:
No 158/200 has been found - site update on this one next week!
Site updates:
no 028/100 also found on autotrader - the person been on here but never replied bothered to acknowledge my emails.
Put some different pics in 025 (coolant tank and eathing kit) with some wording of 'how to..'
Fitted coolant tank - it was pretty straight forward, however the bracket was a PITA!!
Just waiting to next week to have some help doing the AFR and Knocklink's - so I can watch my next rebuild happening in glorious technicolour
Next up I think is colour coding the handles - quite messy looking - previous owner in Japanland didnt use primer. I get away with it cause its black plastic.
Had blue interior lights inside car (another Japanland thing) so got rid of them as they are garbage for seeing at night.
Now seriously considering graphics for the car - something akin to Shin's Skyline in TOTBII - but not a copy obviously. With a black car its difficult to pick suitable colours.
Also now contemplating changing the rear spoiler for an STI5 or 6 one. Howeverm theres a part of me that says this sacriledge and punishable - but I would only do it if it was interchangeable back to standard. I really like the original, but I need it to sit higher or lower to see blue flashing light cars behind me.
Put my first tank of petrol in yesterday without OB - what a weird feeling. I'm still only 550miles into first 1000, but I'll sort this out pretty rapidly (better weather at the moment).
Anyway, I've waffled enough - I'm away to Zymol the car to make it look respectable.
Take care folks,
Marky-San

Hi Les,
Nothing on the car front as far as the 'duplicates'. Bit like some of the V1 owners who must think I'm sending them dodgy stuff or something LOL.
Had Knocklink and Dawes AFR fitted to car yesterday, so its christmas time in no.025 - need to understand what all the lights mean - plus I dont know the load colour as I cant rev over 3500 for less than 200 yet. The Knocklink is pretty quiet though - but again, need to check over all the wiring and connections as I know they can be very sensitive. Also, I'll need to fabricate a little bit for the dash so the Knocklink & AFR look more like the interior than Halford stick on's!!
On the site I've add a 'Lost and Found' page which I'll update with some cars that have no owner............... 1-2-3 aaawwwwwwwww.
Catch you all later.
Marky
