Impressive times Co55ie. I love Cossies too - fab engines.

Scoobies can be quick - a certain one on here with less than £1000 spend beats your 1/4 mile times. Funnily enough an ex-Cossie owner who likes to prove people wrong when thay say you can't get good power out of a Scooby cheaply. I think he also beat a claimed 512 BHP Escort Cossie, but some of that may be traction and driver ability rather than a demonstration of raw power.

How do you feel about the chassis/handling of a Porsche, Evo or Scooby against a Cossie? Some would place them in that order in terms of decreasing ability.

Cossie,

1. Just as you have modified your "Cossie", others have mod'd 911 Turbos with over 650bhp. Maybe if you said that MOST STANDARD PORSCHES aren't as fast in a STRAIGHT line, you'd start to make a bit of sense. You're hardly comparing like with like. Then again, most proper drivers are more interested in the handling than talking big numbers down the pub.

2. P1's didn't cost £50k - try £30k.

3. The RS500 is the collectable model out of the bunch. You can pick up a normal Dagenham Dustbin , erm, "Cossie" for £5k.

4. Strange with your huge knowledge of cars that you weren't aware of 500bhp plus Evo's out there.

Back to the pub bro'.

Hey Co55ie

I used to race a modified sierra cosworth at knockhill, the car was the quickest in it's class (lot's of other pro built cossies) and guess what......... my scoob just lapped that same track 0.5 seconds quicker that my cossie's lap record........and I bet its engine mods were FAR cheaper than your GGR motor

0-60 3.89 0-100 9.1 1/4m 11.85 ...................... Next !!

Agreed with andy the subarus chassis is more advanced but you still cant knock a car that cost 13 grand is absolutely mint mechanically all new and has this sort of performance.
Obviously my car could not match a 1000 +bhp skyline. but in standard road trim very few cars including supercars ferraris porsches etc can live with it and are as practical. And as proved time and time again a 400 brake cossie will match a 700 brake skyline down the strip.

New this would be a popular thread, just wondering why co55ie is on a scooby site??? Maybe he tells his mates every time he makes a post on scoobynet thinking that they will think he is cooool. I think he's a scooby wannabe really lol!
Andy.F - any chance of getting to know your CHEAP engine mods?

Co55ie,

there are one or two Scoobs around that have timed 12.2 quarters, or less - so since you say Scoobies are slow - then so are you. Indeed at Elvington the best Scoob was 13.45, 13th overall - without trying to hard as he was running it in

I would love to see you have a GT2 go backwards in your mirror - in fact it has even more juice than you do

About time andy waded in

For your information Cossie, if andy sold his car I'm fairly confident it would be for a lot less than £13k and its faster than yours and having been in it/seen it, I'd say its probably a lot nicer looking too. Think before you slag scoobs!

Its seems strange that no Porsche drivers have joined in this riveting discussion, could it be that they are to busy in the city making mega money before jumping in the Porker and going home to make love to beautiful ladies, bringing with them fine wines and Belgian chocolates ?

Even the TT owners cant be arsed arguing any more.

only just seen this thread or would have joined in earlier

i now have a 996 C4, last 3 cars : e46m3, porsche 993c4s , scooby wrx

to be honest any one of these cars in the right hands could beat any of the others, they all have different attributes that have impressed / depressed me. The 996 feels a little bit slow on take off compared to the others, but once you get higher in the rev range the pulling power is just unbelievable.
In a straight line there wouldnt be an awful lot in it possibly the m3 slightly quicker than the others, round the twisties it would entirely depend on driver, but the porsche definitely gives a bit more communication/feedback than the others, which only encourages you to go a bit faster still

saxo boy you are a muppet you have never even been in a cossie.
In the cars present state 440bhp and 400lb/ft with boost from 2800rpm the flexibilty of the engine is awesome. I would still leave your own tinpot hairdryer for dead if I pulled away in second gear.
I have dragged with a modded P1 and left it for dead in second and I mean left it for dead not inched passed and numerous evo's including a mk7 without going passed 4500rpm in any gear sorry you mate you are spouting ****.
And if the Porsche drivers can only get a decent looking bird by driving a porsche then they must be even sadder than their cars.
It seems you lot are all wannabe BMW and Volvo road captains get a life get some power 280 bhp lawnmower power is not exciting or clever. Have fun with you happy shopper magnex decat pipes and budget engine mods. and if I ran this site I would get rid of the dyno section as its a little embarresing to say the least.
Why do Power engineering tune cars that can't produce any? I am reliably informed that many of the so called specialists humour you lot. You have the worst of the 2 litre turbo cars on the market and you know it.

You shouldn't even be on here. Give up and go. Nobody's ever gonna take you serious as long as you are spouting cr*p and driving that shed.
