OK, we might get enough numbers to make this worth a day out. I'm afraid it won't be timed though. Who is up for it untimed ?

I'm sure we can find somebody to stand beside the track and do the times in their head

But seriously, getting onto the track is the most important thing, timing just adds to the fun. Maybe it could even encourage some of the first timers onto the track (no pressure etc...)

I'm still up for it!

Timming dosn't matter to me - Doubt if I can get into the 95s anyway. Also agree with Crush that new people would not feel as if there was any pressure as their times would not be displayed and therefore nobody would know (or worry) about the actual time. More likely for more passenger laps to be on offer as drivers won't worry about extra weight affecting times, not that many people did bother anyway.

John

Not much luck with getting any one from SS-R club as they already have a Crail circuit day on the 7th which most people have already budgeted/planned for and therefore can't afford/manage to fit in another event.

Bollocks.
I've been looking forward to this for bloody ages.
I'm with Stu, I'll pay double if it means keeping the day going.
What's going on with the track days, two years ago I only just got in at Oulton Park and Donno, now they are all undersubscribed, and Subaru must have sold a few thousand Imprezas since then.

John,

Moz and I will both definitely be coming up north ... if you cancel Kames, we'll just drive round your back garden instead

There's plenty support out there Dougster for takin your car on track. Just take it at your own pace, and build your confidence up, lap by lap.

I'm not bothered whether it is timed or not hoping Cat Motorsport can get the correct springs up here before the weekend.

Have thrown out an invite to a couple of westie owners, just have to wait and see if they can make it.

Ian, Sunday is on. Stan won't be there so it will be my interpretation of how fast you are going that will be important

PS your Smartie looked good in the queue for the Auchenkilns roundabout tonight at about 18:30

Shug, at this stage there is a small entry so I think if we start late everyone will still get out loads of times, watch this space for a start time !!

John

That was me heading back from a track day organised by LOTUS at Knockhill. Great day with loads of track time and went through nearly 80 litres of petrol (more than all my sessions at Kames put together) Weather was good apart from about 20 minutes rain. Didn't quite use up all the tread on an old rear so still have about .5mm of tread left, which I hope to use up at Kames if it is dry.

If you want a lie in on Sunday just give me the keys and I'll warm the track up.

I'll be opening the gate at around 09:30. I'd expect the first cars out around 10am. Costs nothing to watch, £20 to participate.

We may well have a VX220 showing up for a go around 12am. Guy on the SE list sounds interested and said he plans to get along and give it a go. Hardly ever seen a VX220 so will be interesting to see how it does on track. Never seen one at Knockhill yet.

AAArgh! frustration.

I'd love to come to Kames but I have no babysitter for Sunday and the wife is working. There's also the RR day at Star, damn.

Time to get some flowers for me old Mum I think

John, I won't expect to just drive straight on the track if I do come along, but I'll do my best to make it anyway.

Hope you get a dry day.

Dave.

I've got the car back, unfortunately I'm not allowed to partake in any hard braking (causes nasty noises ) so it should be interesting as I'll have to try not slowing down for the corners hmmm, maybe I'd be better off not accelerating along the straight

BTW, It doesn't look like the other westie owners are going to make it

It's John Stewart you want for that. Mail him at john@sidc.co.uk

P.S. If anyone wants to camp at Kames on the Saturday night I'm sure it can be arranged.
