I wonder if anyone has used just the OE bolts and not used any padding/adhesive tape etc?

Seen as you've all bought these lovely spoilers, does anyone have a mid level or other spoiler for that matter that they want too sell me.

TSL use new bolts after tapping out the holes in the spoiler as they get paint etc in em.

They also used big washers to spread the load and drilled out the bar that holds the boot up where the pop in clip sits - giving a 3 point fixing. they do not mess with the holes in the boot lid at all and only drill the bar so that you can put a bolt thru.

They do, of course, paint the xpsosed metal in touchup and on goes the spoiler. then they replace the boot bungs and add two neat gromets over the holes in the boot bar.

Simple really and the fixing is very strong.

so this results in a hole in your boot if you take it off and replace it with a regular one?

From my understanding, they wouldn't be any holes in the boot if you put the original spoiler back on. The hold made is in the bit of metal that holds the boot open, one on either side. That gets covered up so that would remain as is with the old spoiler fitted.

I took off my original spoiler to see how it fitted, there are two bolts in the boot to loosen on each side, then it pops out taking care to prise gently the bits that clip into the metal bits mentioned above.

I can see how TSL fit it now so would have no worries doing the job myself.

Decided not to sell after all. Thought about the fixing side of things etc.
Spoke to Paul he supplied me the the bolts and washers they use. I sorted out the locating pins and the rubber washers plus the thin foam cushioning that lines the outside of the spoiler. Have to say I am very pleased with the results and no extra drilled holes !

UHF - No, there are no extra holes in the boot...

FastBlue Scooby is right.... holes only in the bar that the bootlid bolts to, the hole in the bootlid is already there and not made any bigger... also if you cover the hole in the bar with a bung like TSL do then it looks like it was always like that.

Cool

Pics of mine at last...

Still a couple more tweaks to do, then I'll wash and polish it, take some more pics and do a 'before and after' type thread. I have to say I think this spoiler looks a lot better than the Prodrive one, I'm as happy as a pig in sh*t!

Thanks again to JonW for starting this group buy and everyone who signed up, and thanks to Paul and Graham and all the peeps at TSL for there excellent work.

Cheers,

Andrew.
