So time for an update. Finally managed too find the time too make some progress on the car. First job was too remove the halfords special pedal covers. Just waiting for some standard sti replacements too arrive.

Managed too change the door locks but not the ignition barrel as at present I seem too have a few power supply issues but some of the wiring has been cut so need too get that reconnected back too normal.

Next job was too get the diff put in as the current one is an r160 and I needed an r180. Have too admit wasn't my smartest move attempting to change this on the car trailer but luckily have a few axle stands to support the diff so wasn't too bad.

Figured out why the car was never free rolling. The bolts that hold the brembo calipers on would appear too be slightly too long and was rubbing on the discs preventing the car from rolling so stuck q pair of washers on and hey presto a free rolling impreza.

6 speed appears too select all gears just not reverse at present so got that too look forward too soon.

Other then that just some tidying up on the car.

Fitted the gas struts from.the group buy

So decided this thread needs a bit of an update.

After figuring out there was too many cut wires on the original loom, I decided to buy a new loom from a breaker and get it fitted. Removed the old loom with no trouble and pretty much 3/4 of the way fitting the replacement loom in. Once the loom as been installed it's then just a case of swapping the ignition barrel, door locks over so they are all matching as at present I have 2 keys which either open the door and boot or the door and the ignition barrel. Took the steering wheel off too allow better space. Main concern i do have tho is, the replacement loom had a cobra alarm fitted but some of the wires have been cut.

Nothing else really too report tho but hopefully next year I'll see some movement on the body work

Fingers crossed, one more day and ill have most of it back together but i think ill have too get an auto electrician round too look at the cobra system

Are you just looking to remove the alarm? It should be easier enough to put back to standard with a wiring diagram.

So spent a few hours on the car today and I'm pretty much there now with the wiring. Managed to get the dashboard back in but as its been flocked in the past, I need too get this done again so few bits will be getting sent off for this. To make life easier decided too move the seat and the steering column however refitting the steering column seems too be a bit of a pig job but there we go. Hopefully the wiring will all be done tomorrow.

Well bit more done today. Managed too refit the steering column as well as fitting all the locks so it's on one set of keys now. Need too figure out why the electric mirror plugs for the folding mirrors are different and then figure out a few loose wires then that will be the interior wiring done. Next job will be too fit the side skirts and do the splash guards, hopefully start of next year I'll get some abw arches ordered and get them fitted.
