Now I’m in two minds about fitting the rotated 6262 . I’ll drive this for a bit as it is, but a bigger blower could make this a less road friendly setup.
Its a road car i think its perfect how it is. Never seen 460 horses and over 500 torque before 4k rpms. On best fastest spooling twinscroll with 2.1 and meth graph shows 300 horses and 400 torque on 4k rpms.
Any movie from a dyno ?

I live ten minutes from Santa Pod so wanted to build a full weight ten second car (circa 750bhp) but the car would be used for drag racing maybe 20% of the time and 80% as a road car. Seems a shame to chase numbers for only 20%.
Yes they have made some recordings for me I believe, I’ll get them to send them over.

I know where You live
Any plans for geaerbox on next stage?

Eventually I’d like a sequential in there but for the time being I’ll just get the 6 speed refreshed. 4th gear synchro is starting to grumble a bit so that’ll be next on the list.

See oem flywheel, You did not like lightweight version?
Did they map it without meth?
Think my engine will need rebuild ,need to find out whats best, 2.1 or 2.5 with jdm heads ,it must rev to 8k anyway.

The lightweight flywheel I had was nice, but very grabby and made it particularly difficult to launch the car well, so I decided to go back to OEM. I do now have launch control, but there was a much narrower window of clutch engagement with the lightweight version, far too easy to either bog off the line or wheel spin. It was difficult to control.
Depends what power and driving characteristics you want really. 2.5 makes a fantastic road car, and can rev to 8k with the right heads, but I wouldn’t want to run past 500bhp on the standard liners. 2.1 makes a great engine, particularly for a track car as they love to rev, but they can be laggier on the road and torque will be lower. 2.35 is a great engine, but getting harder to find good ej22 blocks now.
Well the collection day was an absolute hoot. Enginetuner really went out their way to make it special with a full reveal where they filmed my reaction, and we did a few hours of filming for their social media channels. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and the drive home was a blast.
I’ve had the car back a couple of days now and had the chance to blow through a couple of tanks of 99 and copious amounts of meth and I can confirm it’s every bit the animal I thought it was going to be! That torque is just something else, the car just pulls hard in every single gear. In the wet it wants to try and break traction in third, in the dry it just hooks and goes and you have to hang on and try not to hit the rev limiter.
I’m also extremely impressed with how civilised it is considering it has updated cams, speed density mapped and has 1300cc injectors. Martyn has done a fantastic job of making it drive better than stock, thanks in part to the ease of mapping the Emtron ECU.
Had a small issue when the flat foot shifting was enabled on the Emtron ECU, the clutch switch seemed hypersensitive and if I dragged my foot on the clutch even slightly after changing gear it would fuel cut. A quick call the Martyn at ET and he talked me through switching it off via the Emtron Emtune software and the problem has been completely resolved. He’s checking with Emtron in Australia to see if this is an issue they’ve had before and if there’s a workaround, but the car is driving faultlessly again.
How come he didn’t go with syvecs or link ecu etc? Is emtron better?
My choice to go with the Emtron, it is one of the most advanced ECU’s you can buy, it’s used on a number of world time attack cars and record breaking drag cars. Link don’t do an ECU for the 2015 cars yet, and it’s not up there with Syvecs and Emtron. I looked at the Syvecs but feedback I’ve had is that the Emtron is better, so that is what got my vote.
Took the car to the pod today for a quick shakedown, only managed to get one decent run in due to weather issues, track drying and cars dropping oil but managed an 11.9 at 118mph. The car has a lot more in it, that trap speed hints at an 11.5 or quicker, but 4th gear synchro issues meant I took it easy and left it there for the time being. Once the gearbox is sorted I’ll have launch control and flat shift enabled and will return to see what she can really do.
not gonna lie, seeing this makes me want a scoob again.just watched the video, they have done an excellent job on your car i bet your chuffed with it.
how come you have gearbox issues already? are the newer 6 speeds not as robust as the earlier ones?

They have done a fantastic car, it just does everything I want of it. It handles and brakes as well as it goes, it’s a very quick road car. I’m very pleased with it.
4th gear synchro was starting to grumble a bit before they had it, I expect the combination of torque and setting up the flat foot shifting made it worse. ET decided to turn off flat foot shift until I’ve got it sorted. The gearboxes on these are as strong as any other of the 6 speeds (its the same box) but it really needs the carbon synchros.
Thought I’d upload a few pictures of my STI after some recent updates, namely a set of Tein Flex Z Coilovers and new wheels, but have also carried out some further improvements such as an oil catch can, Whiteline uprated anti roll bars with drop links and some other bits.
Thank you very much, I’m just about to invest in one of your mini-header tanks so that I can fit the rotated kit and have room for the 4” inlet pipework. Such a clever little solution to that problem 😊.
amazing build. just heading over to engine tuner to have a read lol
Sorry if i missed it but what top mount intercooler are you using?
Thanks for the kind words, it’s not on a top mount intercooler, I took that off back when the car was running around 370’ish in favour of a Process West FMIC. I can’t recommend the Process West stuff highly enough, fantastic quality.
Decided to change the wheels so invested in a set of Motegi MR145 Traklite 3.0 in 18x9.5 et35. These are very light wheels; only 8kg a corner and I think the look suits the car. Very JDM in my eyes.
So I have to make a confession…I’ve been a bit of a brand snob.
I’ve had the K Sport 8pot/356mm kit on for a while and it has been faultless. Even with the elevated power the car has, the have performed over and above my expectations and have given me a huge amount of faith in their braking capability.
But the thing is, I’ve always wanted a set of Alcons. The car has had the best of everything, and now it has some of the best brakes to compliment with rest of the build in the form of the RCM/Alcon Advantage Extreme 6 pot/365mm kit. I haven’t drive it yet to compare as I’ve only just got them buttoned up and tomorrow I plan to bleed the whole system with new fluid, but they do look the part!
should have been in touch and could have assisted (as previously) .......
** keep an eye on the bells as Alcon has a poor rep in this regard and replacements can be pricey / if its the road going caliper then weirdly they are more prone to piston issues than the race monobloc version that is our preferred option
stockcar could make You kit with alcon race calipers using 362mm ap discs? their race kit is to noisy for street use
could send You ap discs with bells ,will need brackets for cr6 calipers, think bells will be needed to
my previous set below

Oh thats annoying Alyn, I didnt realise you dealt with Alcon!! That will teach me for not ringing you 🤦🏻♂️.
What’s the issues with the bells, do they corrode? I’ll have to keep an eye on it. It was a toss up between this and the AP kit but I preferred the fact these are a Monobloc whereas the AP’s are still two piece.
