Default MY2015 WRX STI - 500bhp+ build

Thought I’d upload a few pictures of my STI after some recent updates, namely a set of Tein Flex Z Coilovers and new wheels, but have also carried out some further improvements such as an oil catch can, Whiteline uprated anti roll bars with drop links and some other bits.

I know this car from the 2015 WRX/STI owners group facebook page. Welcome! Love the wheels and stance on yours.

Ah hello mate, nice to see you briefly the other day. Don't see many of our models on the road so had to pull in to have a little chat! Thank you, yours looked well too, love the mud flaps on yours, sets it off a treat.

Thanks very much, wasn't sure if it was a little too cliché going with gold rims on a blue car, but it seems to work pretty well.

Hiya buddy, hope you are well. Thank you, looking forward to seeing the coilovers on yours, yours already sits so well on the H&R's and the wheels work so well with the colour. Love the calipers too.

Cheers bud. I won't have it sitting much lower on the coilovers as it's still my daily, but the coilovers should generally improve things.

Love yours and as we all know, blue is the fastest colour!

I'm really impressed with the way mine rides on the coilovers, so much more body control. And you are absolutely right there ha ha!

I’ve done some more work on the car recently as I’m slowly moving it towards track car status. Recent updates have been in the form of a Process West FMIC and intake, KSport Monoblock 8pots and 356mm discs, suede steering wheel and snap off boss and a map tweak by Neil at Slowboy Racing.

I have a Perrin AOS plus a few other bits in the post to me, looking forward to getting those fitted too.

I also forgot the add that the car now runs a H&S 3” decat downpipe and Tomei Ti Expreme Titanium cat back, but I need to see how track friendly this will be as it’s loud!

Kein engine mounts, diff mount, gearbox mount and pitch stop mount have been fitted. They do increase NVH slightly, but the advantages outweigh the negatives in my mind as the car feels so much more connected.

Samco intake hose has also been fitted, along with a GFB

Good work, but I doubt any track will pass a decat Tomei!! I've got a 3" titanium Invidia to go on my hatch, and that is the reason it hasn't been fitted.

Thank you, yes I’d be inclined to agree with you. I love the sound of the Tomei, so may keep it for weekend work and look to buy something a little quieter for track work.

Thanks John, I use a mixture of Meguires and Autosmart products. I use Autosmart G101 to degrease the engine and then Autosmart Finish to give a nice protective coat to the plastics after. I have recently been using the Megs Hybrid Ceramic Wax on the bodywork (after the two bucket method etc) which seems to last pretty well. For wheels I use the Autosmart Smart Wheels and G101 on the inner arches.

I’ve just googled meguirs hybrid ceramic wax, is it just a spray on wipe off?

It is yes, pretty much. You have to lay a base down the very first time you use it, but after that you just spray on, jetwash off and then towel dry. It works extremely well and i'm very pleased with the results for something that is so simple and quick.

definitely mate, I thought that you would have used some kind of carnauba wax to get a shine like that.

I used to use Carnuba (an other waxes) but find this to be superior now, I just reapply it every couple of months and the car always looks immaculate. The only thing I will say is use it sparingly (1 spray per panel) otherwise it can streak slightly, but that's the only negative and you'd have to really pile it on to have that happen. I have had a bottle since February this year and it's still half full.

I’m always looking to enhance the shine on my car so I may give it a go, cheers. 👍

Ibe been using r222 concours for a while now and I love it, easy on and easy off whilst leaving a great shine. As it’s running low I’ve recently bought Collenite 845 and meguirs deep crystal wax so I’m going to give these a go as they get great reviews, especially the meguirs deep crystal....I found a video on YouTube very very helpful, if you get a spare 10 mins try watch it,

some big hitters get tested against each other and I’m very impressed with the meguirs.
