Cant you update the rods? 👍

yeah but would require the engine to be split, the rest of the spec is fantastic and would do 500bhp easily if it werent for the rods.

i have the following

2.5 block with closed deck inserts
mahle 2618 pistons
std rods with arp rod bolts
new 2.5 crank
cosworth head gaskets
arp 11mm head studs
rebuilt avcs heads with uprated valves/springs and retainers

its covered around 16k so far and runs perfect. a few tuners have quoted around £2.5k to remove/split and replace the rods/bearings which isnt too bad i suppose.

The 2.1 would increase displacement a little, but there's also a 2.5 option (and 2.3, but that is serious money).

I'd personally sit down and reflect on why you want to increase the power. IMO spending 4k for an increase to potentially only 360 hp is crazy, especially when the standard turbo will get you 330-340hp anyway. The money might be better spent improving other aspects of the car, maybe?
I see what your saying but for 2k more you can have a 2.35 and never worry again about how much power you put through it .
So in short if you get the power bug you can carry on and on

Do you know how much it costs to get to your state with forged Rods?

well the receipt i have from the clinic is for around £7200 and that was for everything i mentioned above including timing kit/water pump/oil pump/gasket set for the block and supplying a new block as the block in my car was beyond salvaging. uprated rods would have been an extra £500 odd but the previous owner chose not to uprate them which is a shame.

the rest of my car is ready for big power, i have

750cc injectors
walbro fuel pump
front mount intercooler
ap racing clutch and xtreme light-weight flywheel
induction kit
3 port oil catch can
and obviously a shed load of suspension/brake upgrades. the chassis work was around £3.5k.

there are other tuners out there who offer 2.1 stroker etc, check out engine tuner or thwaites.
