Pfizer and Moderna may be making money, but the rest of the health system has ground to a halt, so other expensive treatments are not going ahead.
No governments wants to deal with a pandemic on their watch.

Pfizer is currently, and presumably boosted by the current situation the worlds 29th most valuable company, Moderna much further down the list.
Are you saying that the worlds 29th most valuable company has reached agreements with governments world wide to pretend there is a pandemic? Or pretend there are variants?

So what, this will always happen, it's just that Omicron spreads a lots more quickly and becomes the main strain, most of the variants dissapear because they have no advantage, Omicron does so here it is.

However, infection is only just beginning to ramp up.
Your strategy is to wait until 100's are dying a day is it rather than take caution?
Human life is in most societies considered sacrasanct and trumps financial or other concerns, that is why we had the lock downs even though the cost was huge.
You need to consider that what you are saying is that you know better than all the governments, all the medical community, the WHO etc etc.

In the US, however, the process to approve is lengthy, but either way, the same trials have to be done, and passed, so the emergency use allows them to use it immediately. Once the pandemic is declared over, then they all have to apply for full FDA approval through the normal channels. Seeing as they have been in use for years by then anyway, I imagine it will be shorter, but it is America.....
So the vaccines have passed all the medial trials, they are not experimental, what exactly is your concern?
