Hi all, I’ve decided to keep my car for the time being....I put it on eBay and got very close to what I asked for. I’m going to leave it on eBay as it’s paid up for a month and if someone on eBay wants to buy it for 18 grand it theres. Thanks for all the interest. I’m glad to be staying as a Subaru owner on here, I will buy a few bits for it next month to replace the rusty bolts etc...
price 18k,You -"got very close to what i asked for"
16k now🤑

cheers mate, really not sure but I have been in a few modern fast cars recently like golf r’s, Audi s3, focus rs and I much prefer the newer cars. All the things Subarus have for fast driving people is irrelevant to me as I don’t drive fast. I know people will say the ones I’m looking at are boring etc but I’m after comfort now with a bit of poke....be either golf r or s3 👍
For the money I personally don't think the s3 is worth it.
Have you looked at the BMW (insert number)40i. Depending on age you're also close to M5 money. Or get a more tame 3 series (in comparison to the 340i) thats years newer.

I will have a think mate but I won’t be buying anything soon, I forget to mention the m140 which is another option but the work van is all I need right now 👍

had my R 3 weeks absolutely hated it ! Sold it to buy a sti and much prefer the sti , the R is very overrated personally.
nice 👍 I may invest in one and also do something with the alternator cover to plus I’m definitely getting my inlet manifold sprayed blue, replace the hoses etc...

i bought red paint for manifold but it is big job to remove it and put it back, think will leave it for now and plasma coat it when forging an engine with new clutch ,turbo etc

So when it goes wrong or before who will you use.
To do the job you must have someone in mind or you wouldn't have mentioned it.
one from below
motorsgt
slowboy
enginetuner
for oem engine plan was chevron/owens turbo but figures on raggydoo car pushed me off( still have it in mind seen s204 with 470 horses with their turbo)

any idea why the paint came off ? Mine was the same so DIY painted it with wrinkle red today. It's not perfect as I left it fitted, but it's better than the flakey paint that was on it.

thats some idea ,did not see it at first look You painted it on a car, looks good that
think reason could be heat or poor maintenance before painting

cheers guys. I'm sure it's a big job stripping it off the car so spent some time unbolting the easy bits (intercooler was off to be painted too) masked off the rest then painted as best I could. It's not perfect but I hated the way it looked before.
from the factory? It was basically turned to powder, you know the way aluminium goes white , like that.
heat is my bet
i mean storage before painting, than straight to paint , yes goes white unprotected or poorly protected like ours
mine was like that with just 55k miles, seen others with 100k without that issue
did You remove old paint before painting?
