Further 'tarting' up has occurred.

Prefer to the silver on a silver car, oh and the wheels have been refurbed in a new colour

I colour coded mine to match my wheels which I thought was a nice touch.

yeah HT Autos. Fitted in about 10mins using OEM fixing points. Full low level kit was one of the best mods I did.

All my HT Auto's plastic ground kit (splitter, side skirt exnetsions and rear spats) all turned brown with age. I've had to paint them all with Halfords Satin Black to make them look presentable.

No I have had the STi sides and later front lip spoilers fitted since 2014.
The HT Auto items started sagging between fixing bolts.

A few lockdown 3 updates, progress has been slow as the weather has been pretty rubbish to work on the car but some stuff has been done.

OEM mudflaps have been replaced with rally armor ones

what I have found however is that the wheel arches have holes to accommodate the old flaps so need to come up with a plan to fill them

Next job was the steering rack bushes

Then added a Cusco brace to replace the oem one

Then some STI genomes which I have been meaning to fit for ages

Nice updates...haven't seen those gauge setup like that before. Does the steering rack brace make much difference or more aesthetical?

What are you doing with your old mudflaps? I'd be interested in them as I damaged my driverside front and are same style. Tried PM'ing but your full!

Try sugru for filling in the holes of the wheelarches.

The large "sleeve" in your rack bushes kit looks a different size to your original. Did it fit ok, because other kits come with a choice of 2 sizes? I fitted the Cusco brace as well, definitely took the strain off the bushes, but I chose black powerflex as it wouldn't affect harshness.

Thanks Gambit, I am going to keep hold of them for now but will let you know if I want to part with them. the brace is certainly slightly thicker and definitely better made so would suggest better rigidity. I wont feel the full benefit of either until I get my front wishbone bushes replaced as they're fairly shot.

part of the fitting instructions for OE mudflaps is to drill the holes in existing arch liners

What are you planning to do with the front HID levelling sensors?

one of these purchased to replace existing arm/mount, and then a fabricated bracket mounted on the arm using the recesses in the arm to bolt up to rather than weld or tap into the arm itself - like in the 'mockup' scribble attached. Shouldnt be hard to sort something

The "thing" with the mudflaps is that originally there were no OEM supplied flaps to fit the wide body STI hatch, only the narrow body Impreza models and European Wrx.
For MY10 (or maybe earlier), they produced a complete set (front and rear) with a differing style part number to that normally used, just for Europe. ("E" to right of part number, as against "W" for worldwide below)

Which is probably why the wheel arch is drilled instead of just using existing holes.
Maybe worth refitting the clips that came out with the sugru to take up any slack and hold them tightly in place.

@Rusti , what's the condition of your OEM rear mudflaps and are you interested in doing a deal with a set of almost new rear Rally armour ones?
I've tried to PM you but your inbox is full

No worries, I think I will end up trimming the rear Rally armour ones as they are too big for my liking and spoil the sexy *** of the car IMHO
