Rusti's WRX STi 330s
I have decided to move on from the Fozzy in to something a bit smaller but still a practical boot, folding seats etc. so I got this at the weekend.

That's lovely mate. Really like that.
You need to get those red rear light overlays to get rid of the lexus-light-itus. :) |
Morning Andy, thanks. Thats not a mod that I am familiar with so I need to check it out, as you say its a bit bling bling at the moment :lol1:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/132405448791?chn=ps Think from memory Rob Day on here might sell them. So what's the spec of your car? Does it have the Recaros? |
Cool I will check those out.
The car is a completely standard 330s with keyless entry, Recaros, push button start, Prodrive backbox. It also has the optional front fog lights and exhaust surrounds. With this in mind one of the first orders of the day will be to go and get a proper map rather than the ECU flash its currently got to try and prolong the life of the engine whilst I sort out funds to forge it. It was bought as a base to move on to the next level of tuning (beyond 350) I always wanted a hatch and saw this as a good opportunity. |
Very nice spec then. Does look lovely. :thumb:

I totally get what you mean when you were talking about yours being more refined, this is a huge step from my spec D hawk so I only imagine how much more your beast is.

i also went from a Spec D to a 330s, and they are night & day in comparison. biggest difference i found was that you find yourself sitting IN the seat in the 330s rather than ON the seat in the Spec D

How hard was it to get the rear STi diffuser? JapanParts.com had to wait a while, but it came, made sure i had the commodity code from the HMRC website so i paid the correct import duty on it. :) |
lol why do people use pattern parts, call me old fashioned but the cost difference is small so why bother, also the garage that did this screwed it so tight the o ring was stuck hard to the oil pan!

Yep I agree. Price difference is so little I only use genuine or upgraded parts.

Really enjoyed the copper washer and over torqued sump drain plug as well :wall:

Thats a cool looking device, have you got one on yours Don?
|
Is the hole in that drain plug big enough to let all the large bits of 2.5 ringland and head gasket exit the sump safely every oil change? :D
|

Got a problem, new front pads and discs and under breaking I am getting vibration through pedal and steering wheel.
Wheels look OK as do tyres and I am not getting vibration without breaking or noise so thinking its not wheel bearings Warped discs? |
do you know when the breaks were fitted?
I swapped all mine.. Front & Back and new pads at the same time. EuroCar parts do the Brembo discs... wait till they do the 50% off sale ;) then bought the Brembo HP2000 Sport pads (F&R) and not having any issues. Breaking is so much better than the std set up. |
They were fitted by the dealer before selling the car which means they're going to be pretty naff IMO certainly not OEM he confirmed that.
The only odd thing is he replaced them due to vibration, which then leads you back to bushes/ bearing/ wheels etc. and there is no play or noise or vibration until I push the brake :wonder: |
Smashing car Rusti, quick question I have the same wheels\colour on my hatch. Do you happen to know what the paint code/exact colour is or is it just a standard gun metal ?
