Yea mate, one for me & one for the Mrs, have you took a bang to the head ?

Spent plenty of time in the old model S P100d & it destroyed most stuff on the road.

This new model S plaid will smash alot of supercars in both straight line & track so look forward to trying that out & it costs less than 10% of the Rimac.

I was highlighting the 308 more than the SF. I already knew electric is superior, even at Tesla or Nissan money

Faster round a track too

All while weighing best part of 2 tonne or more

Look at the progress of EV's in last 10 year vs the ICE cars

Give another 10 & the fossile burners will be looked as if you took a Penny Farthing to a bike show

No tailpipe emissions.

In the case of the 308 conversion, the vehicle became lighter in weight with electric propulsion

Using a nice looking vehicle for the future in towns and cities, where ICE will be priced off the road.

My drive into to local town, last year I would see less than 5 Model 3 per day.

Now, its well over 30 per day confirming Tesla Model 3 is UK most popular EV.

Im seeing alot of Hyundai's, Kia, VW full EVs now too. Not surprisingly Nissan Leaf is not keeping up with sales of newcomers. Their new SUV cant come soon enough to be a player in the market

The company car tax on a £70k I-PACE is only about £25 per month for a 40% tax payer !

For a similar priced Range Rover Sport 3.0 diesel, it would be about £650 per month in tax.

No wonder the majority we sell are to company users, the cynic in me says that not many are actually buying them to save the planet.

That's the carrot
The stick is ever increasing VED, fuel duty increase, pollution charges in town cities and parts of the country.

Government is considering scrapping all duties on new EVs to accelerate the take up

Its not solely about CO2. Particulates and other dangerous gases, Nitrogen Oxide being one. Harmful to people, animals, vegetation eco system etc

And most of that is attributable to trucks, busses and business travel (white van man and travelling salesmen).

Private vehicle usage is a tiny fraction of man-made CO2 and EV's currently save a tiny fraction of CO2 compared to ICE vehicles provided you do >10,000 miles a year. So in the grand scheme, switching to EVs for private use barely scratches the surface!

I'm pleased to see the government is pushing heat pumps now, but really the whole building regs need an overhaul for more environmental building, particularly for commercial properties!

True, although the majority of particulates come from tyres and brakes. For the remaining, diesel is the biggest offender, burning petrol produces relatively few particulates. So EV's also don't have a great impact on improving particulates, especially given the additional weight for the size of the vehicle. For harmful gasses, I agree completely, EV's are a huge improvement! Although in both cases, it still comes back to the majority of vehicle usage is no personal use with trucks, busses and business travel (excluding daily work commute) accounting for the vast majority of vehicle particulates and harmful gasses.

Rather than pushing private EVs and taxing the public off the road, the government should be focusing on trucks and busses, for which Hydrogen is currently by far the better fuel solution, particularly accounting for weight and range. Even better, they should try and shift much of the freight off the roads and onto the rails where it can be far more efficiently transported.

Good news for Hydrogen!

https://www.theverge.com/2021/6/16/2...totype-vehicle

For bigger cars Hydrogen is already the best solution for reducing CO2 emissions, so definitely the right move for LR!

Because its a simple way to distinguish it from green hydrogen so joe public can understand that green hydrogen is better than blue hydrogen! Yes its marketing, but it works!

Like 'Adblue' ?

Supposed "diluted urea" or "AdPee" didn't have the same ring to it.

Still not quite worked out the automotive industry's fascination with the colour blue:

Bluearth (yokohama)
Chuangchi Blue sky (mazda)
Bluetec (merc)
Blue efficiency (Merc)
Blue HDi (PSA)
Bluemotion (Vw)

Load of blue ***** if you ask me

Well our gas companies were already on the ball years ago; Infrastructure to houses being re-sleaved with high pressure plastic pipe to allow use of hydrogen mixes. Boiler manufacturers already offering hydrogen ready boilers.
