depends who you ask and alot is down to budget and what you want from them.
2618 were in the builds i had and got little to no slap and didn't use oil.

Slap and oil usage is mostly down to correct size and standard of honing from what I've 'read'

depends, some pistons expand more than others when they warm up so larger tollerances have to be left when built, hence the increased slap when cold.
plus some can't built and engine worth **** as you say hahaha

Well I have had my car for nearly 5 months now and it's not used a drop yet, been all around the east coast in it and various other long trips and it's fine

Hi I noticed you use Royal Purple,are you able to smell it when the engine is warmed up ?

No although it's on the things to do list.
Can't say I've smelt the oil buddy, surely if I did I'm guessing that's a bad thing
