I've been on here since the late 90's under various names as I usually forgot my username and or password. There weren't many registered users back then and I suppose I had an Impreza before some of you lot were born!

49 this year and on my 5th Impreza, starting out as a fledgling owner of a brand new Catalunya (number 100) way back in 1997. The pleasure of a P1 in 2000 which now seems a lifetime ago and now enjoying a Spec C Type RA Hawkeye and something from the dark side for the summer weekends.

bugger - i feel old now

but on the plus side insurance is relatively cheap

Cheers Rob

Assuming you get 25 mpg, that equates to 6440 gallons of petrol used.

At £4.00 av a gallon thats £25,760, over 19 years, £1356.00 a year.

If like me you can,t put a price on contentment, thats a real cheap way to go around with a smile on your face for 19 years.

I,m on £12.800 worth of smile miles..............

can someone check the math( it,s not my strong point), and i could be talking nonsence it has been know

Pretty much spot on...

The ave price of (all) UL in 1999 was around 60ppl *. Today, literally, the national ave of SUL is 130.6 **. So over the last 19yrs (albeit very crude ***) that's a 'per annum' ave price of 95.3ppl, or £4.33 per gallon.

** Source: https://www.petrolprices.com

*** Pun unintentional lol

I've been on here pretty much from the start but with various user names (STiBlues, WRXBlues, etc) as I keep changing laptops and forgetting passwords...

@ProdriveTim, @Anger
Of your 15 and 14 Subarus respectively, which did you enjoy the most?

My original UK2000 in some ways - it felt so quick compared to anything else I had driven at the time. Unfortunately I learnt about legendary scoob lift-off understeer with that one...
That said, still fondly remember No.2 - an STi Version 3 - only running around 310-320bhp but plenty quick enough and best gearbox out of all of them (in my opinion). After that, probably the first JDM twinscroll I owned - a black 'API 350' Blobeye STi.
I wouldn't describe myself as a good driver and actually find I can cover the ground fastest in the Blitzen Leggy - only 302HP but you can drive it ***** out without it biting your backside! The Leggy suspension (again in my opinion) seems to suit UK roads better. My Spec D is an absolute bone-breaker!

I wish I'd had 7 Subaru's

Having owned or driven 30+ other company cars by now,
I find just don't need or want a different private one to a Subaru.
The only one that came close was Lancia's 16V at the time I owned a Martini 8V.

At 54 I thought I was old geezer in my Subaru but like +Doc+ , if I can wrestle the keys back from my sons, I'm off to pass some Germans this weekend.

On the other hand I wonder what time I can put up in my Audi 100

Joined in 2005 with a 2.0 GL NA scoob,

Thats long gone, but i do have a nice H6 3.0 now

Although it's due for some TLC, bloody Subaru reliablity!

112K and a cvjoint is failing, seriously dissapointed lol

Some familiar names in the list, and some not so familiar

Some that will be missed, and some that wont

@ProdriveTim, @Anger
Thanks for the answers, good to know.
I guess that when you've owned a few you know which are the genuinely desirable ones.

Hi Frank!

Still got your RA? Hope so.

P1 went, kids and (bigger) mortgages took over! I've got a 172 Cup now as my runaround which is actually a lot of fun.

I'll be back one day.....!

I think you could call me an old timer
One of the original muppets.
Sadly the Impreza is long gone though...
