If you're device is eligible then get it done, new batteries are great.

Dropping as in signal? Like your last one? Odd that.

Swype is rubbish, does what you say it does.

Well not doomed but something is definitely wrong with their processes. This performance cull and also the "root" security/username debacle, the password hint revealing the actual password lol for some and the i being replaced by random characters, it's all really sloppy. Funny that you haven't mentioned these before too.

I’ve started threads about all of Apples gaffs, all handled very well, mostly due to the high adoption rate of updates. You probably haven’t noticed because there haven’t been many of note. Talking of Notes, let’s not forget the benchmark of mobile **** ups. Apple made people’s devices last longer, get the pitchforks, Samsung’s explode, millions recalled after users exposed to fire risk, nothing to see here LOL.

Krack, how is Android getting on?

I could go on but I'm pretty sure everyone knows you have no credibility left, especially after siding with TP, what were you thinking.

Apple have openly apologies, offers discounted battery replacement scheme. They will update their software with battery management customer features.

This is a mitigating strategy to lessen the litigation punishment

While definitely true that the numbers will add up, mostly that will be because now the masses are aware that batteries degrade and will upgrade now for £29 and later for more, it's still worth it if you keep a device for a long time, that counts for everything with a battery not just iPhones.

What's more interesting to me is how the rest of the market will react, what's the answer for the android users? It'll be way more complicated than "here's a discount". It's not like anyone believes they have magic batteries... do they?

I hope this does make it to court but not for the same reasons, it'll get kicked out and stop this bull**** hitting everything with a battery.

I'm not sure if your aware but their is some technology that's been out for a while now called a replaceable battery, most android phones have them. The techonology is not even hard to use, the user just pops out their old battery and puts a new one in, it's no harder than changing your sim card.

None of this malarkey of having to drive miles to find the nearest Apple store, then trying to find somewhere to park close by and then part with a stupid amount of money to get them to change a battery.

Well that would have been common sense. Any idiot knows Li-Ions wear out (says me with a pile of dead 18650 cells littered all over the place).

A pop-up disclaimer saying "your battery is getting old, therefore expect it to not last as long" would have sufficed...That's exactly what Dell did with their laptops, once they hit the 12month warranty expiration, a pop-up warning message appears informing the user the battery is nearing end of life!

Transparency over issues would go a lot further to win customers than sweeping things under the carpet. We already know real world battery ratings vs that printed in tech-specs is bull-crap.

We also already know that the battery % indicator on the display also tells cobblers in aim to not to upset the user; just like the temp gauge on my car reads 90degrees yet the real temperature can swing between 70degrees and 110degrees (most cars are like this...and they do it in order to not alarm the driver...but a pain in the **** if you suspect something isn't quite right...like heater not blowing quite as hot as it should), also 100mph is actually 90mph (so I'm told ).

My last 4S's battery died in the fashion mentioned in Apple's published "excuse" for slowing phones down; When using power hungry apps it'd just switch itself off, even with 50% battery showing. It'd also switch off if I dropped it to, so I always assumed a connection issue. But it only got "really" bad to the point of being useless after the OS was updated.

Never got to bottom of it as its just used as a iPod and lives in a dock.

My iP6S still runs iOS10 for the reason often pointed out by users where people update and have issues (I still recall an update frying the Wifi chip on my cousin's 5S)....I'm happy with the way it works, didn't want stuff moved from where I'm used to it being placed and so never updated....it badgers me daily, sometimes it tries trick me to update by asking for the PIN, but I'm that used to it I subconsciously ignore it...bit like those persistent Java or Adobe update nagging pop-ups on PCs.

Do they? And where do you buy them? I never see them for sale, well not since the 90's anyhow. What I do see and use are battery packs, probably a bit bigger than your spare phone specific battery, but more useful and better for the environment. The less single purpose batteries the better.

£29 is hardly a stupid amount of money, £100 isn't stupid. It works hard and at 3 years a new one will work wonders.

You don't have to drive to the Apple store silly, that's just a bonus, you can send it in like any device.

Removing a Third Party Keyboard from iOS
Open Settings and go to “General”
Select “Keyboards” and then tap on the “Edit” button in the corner.
Tap on the (-) red minus button, or swipe left on the keyboard you wish to delete.
Exit out of Settings when finished.

I think it's somewhat nuts that people are complaining when it's generally a good idea. It's not just Apple that thinks so. https://www.engadget.com/samsung-inv...084521209.html
