I don't think so at all, why wouldn't a device that contains more hardware cost more than another. The iPhone has many hardware functions not available in other devices, those cost money.
The whole point here is that TP's point is pointless, same chip, different chip, it matters not, features you can't use are useless.
As you've obv never used one with the edge you obv have no clue, it makes no difference viewing anything with it i.e. looks flat like on any screen and has the additional options/notification functions, it's brilliant.

So two extra bits of screen on the sides is fine but not two on the front, hmm. I took the **** out of my friend yesterday because text was hiding around the edge. .
Two on the front? wtf you on about, the notch (blank area) on the X is not used ffs. Hence crops out any fullscreen image. You're mental.
Just like the edge you don’t have to use the two extra screen areas, in a lot of cases - real use - it’s a bonus. You don’t find the edges of your device handy?
Where’s Samsung’s new tech? Just upping a few numbers costs nothing, software development also costs money, Don’t forget that if you’re not paying for a product, you are the product.
You really wouldn't actually choose to would you ?
We're too old, all the kids are doing it. I can understand a bit of catch up TV while stuck in an airport if you have no other choice but a film, on purpose, what a waste. I'm guess I'm a creator not a consumer.
like the way Jacko ignores anything he silently agrees with:-
for the cost of an iPhone Notch i would expect
1) fast charging with up to date spec
2) no camera bump
3) ditto to a notch
4) OIS on both rear cameras
5) LTE that is up to the speed of competitors
6) ditto to WiFi
7) dont be stingy with RAM
8) please provide a decent fast charger and not a pos in retail box
add a larger battery to that list also to keep in touch with the rest.
Nothing new, just a couple of bigger numbers and a few made up things. Where's your innovation, new hardware?
You are the saddest loser I've ever come across, why don't you call to your apprentice and give him some lessons if you are bored.
That's a serious case of the pot calling the kettle black right there. All you've ever posted on here is about how crap the iPhone is and how amazing Samsungs are. If you're looking for a candidate for delusional fanboy of the month you might want to try out that amazing selfie cam you've got.

So the bloke that spent that last 3 months bitching about his iPhone not working properly is a fanboy as well. Excellent.
But, but, but, I thought the S8 was supposed to be perfection and only Apple did crap like cropping images or rendering sections of screen useless.
He'll start moaning about the iPhone weighing more than the Samsung soon, I'm sure there are a few stories of arm strain if you dig deep enough on the internet.
On a side note love the note 8 with its ability to extract text from images and websites, makes it much easier for Jacko too since he doesn't need to open links
What hardware innovation did they use to enable cut and paste?
