Ive obviously misunderstood and ordered the wrong item, im collecting STI TMIC on tuesday with the silicone hoses. Andy made it clear that its not getting enough air on the dyno and possibly turbulence, so how am I do get more air in? I was under the impression the intake pipe ive ordered above was collapsing restricting the airflow in.

im struggling to what could be causing so much overboost and fuel cut. its a nightmare to drive.

ive just requested to cancel the intake hose and ive ordered a 3 port from scoobyworx, sti tmic and bonnet undertray collecting tuesday.

Finally I have and adjustable BOV, would this have an effect on the boost?

what say your car ran 300 bhp on dyno in 5th on uk newage 6 speed.

Then ran in 4th. Would it not read more power ?

without looking up the ratios not sure, it changes spool rather than peak figures iirc, but im going way back in my memory here so could be wrong lol

Upgrading the turbo intake pipe is worth doing at some point and gains are certainly seen from doing this. It's not a definite no and if you've already got the pipe you might as well get it fitted to see if it helps. They are a real bugger to fit, so have fun!

Chances are if you're getting overboost and fuel cut then Andrew hasn't left enough headroom in the boost cut limit on your map. He made this mistake on mine too and it kept cutting and driving like a pig until he finally got round to re-re-mapping it for me and correcting his mistake. Mine now drives perfectly thankfully and I am very pleased with his map.

Adjustable bov's are a waste of space imo and experience had one on my last scoob never ran smooth always felt like a leak/laggy then sometimes fine contacted Andrew and he pointed it out as he wasn't keen on it when he mapped it first time round
Then I changed it for a forge item then back to Andrew Carr for a tweak ran superb on the forge item night and day difference

Or just fit the OEM recirculating BOV back on. The work just fine and hold boost very well indeed.

Well I fitted the STI TMIC and bonnet undertray, for a while I thought it was a winner then put foot down on motorway and fuel cut again, certainly abit better but still cuts and feels like it wants to cut so come of throttle slightly. but there is slight improvement about how much it is doing it now.

So shall I just fit the intake pipe now its ordered as not dispatched yet. 3 port should here tomorrow but obviously fit that day of re-remapping lol

Seems like your chasing your tail a bit.
I only use Richard at fb tuning for maps etc.as he's also a mechanic can usually sort out anything untoward at the time.a one stop shop.
I felt the same when I got my classic impreza mapped by just a mapper.
your really just paying them for a map and nothing else.
they can be helpful if they want but upto them.
i say good luck or go to Richard!

I dont think this can be pinned on andrew carr reading between the lines. My car was playing up when he mapped mine and he changed the restricor pill and it played ball. I think if you go back to him now/when all your breathing mods fitted for a map tweak then the problems should be ironed out or worst case you will have an answer to why its doing what it is.

Completely not Andy carrs fault as he's paid to map the car only.
the car has an issue somewhere but without a proper mechanic or someone who is being paid the time to find the fault the owner is chasing what could or couldn't be wrong with it.
just my experience.
op can fit everything and anything he wants then go and get a map tweak for little or no gain.
mapper is paid for mapping a car nothing else.

A turbo inlet is best fitted with the inlet manifold off, so take into account the extra work needed. I recently changed mine to Viper inlet as original had turned to putty. Can highly recommend the Viper, great fit and well made, worth the extra over an ebay special.
I also had my injectors flow tested and matched, and put phenolic spacers under the manifold...a few things to consider while its all off.

Ok im all sorted now waiting on parts to arrive and will fit before a map tweak. I appreciate some items might be a waste but trying to give it everything possible so hopefully we can come away happy and on boost. im not to bothered if it doesnt make any more BHP now I just want to be able to boost all gears.

Ive now fitted STI TMIC and undertray
Ordered 3 Port Boost from scoobyworx
Ordered a Perrin Induction Kit
Ordered Turbo silicone intake pipe.

Messaged Andy for a dyno date....Queue the results.

What inlet pipe have you gone for? Hope you have avoided the cheap ebay items as they not the best. Ive got a perrin one on mine and its a great fit and quality

I wouldn't be too hasty there. Andrew Carr screwed the original map on my car right up. No mechanical fault at all, just a map error on his part from rushing mine. He has resolved it now thankfully and I'm very pleased indeed with the results. I'd certainly use him again even after the hassle and stress I had.

Mistakes can happen to anyone.

you can run 600bhp on a top mount if you want, doesn't mean you wont get heat issues

How old is your fuel pump? They can sometimes fail so maybe swapping in a known good replacement might help?

If you download BTSSM and buy a cable to plug into your diagnostic port then you can do some data logging. If you capture as many sensors as possible we should be able to tell you if the fuel pump is at fault and causing fuel cuts.

I suspect if it's fuel cutting (like a harsh rev limiter engine cut effect) then it's probably the ECU cutting fuel supply rather than the pump itself failing. My guess would be a boost related issue causing this.

^^^this
I'm sure op said he has upgraded his fuel pump anyway.
I know it's going for a map tweak soon but it's a cracking idea to buy a data logging cable, probably one of the best tools I own and can help massively with most running problems you have now and in the future.

Good luck with a reply, i am still awaiting him getting back with dates, 6 weeks later, 6 emails to him, also messaged TEG, who came back with a quick response so can't fault them.
They also sent my email on to Andy and said they would chase him in person last week when he was at their place mapping...... zzzzz

emailed another well known mapper at the weekend, 2 days later map booked, bye bye andrew carr.

He a very busy bloke but will reply. He does get fully booked months in advance plus he got his own life with family. But if you have got a date with another mapper all the best. Seems to be a trend on here last few weeks to slate mappers

Tbf I've only ever seen bad thing said about a couple of mappers in the last few year let alone few weeks.
Praise where praise is due but if people have negative and bad experiences with any business in what ever profession then there is nothing wrong with telling your story in my eyes.
Poor workmanship and bad customer service is a pi55take

How can you even stick up for him with what mshill has put? Did you even read it - 6 weeks its not let he hasn't given ample time to resolve is it....

Took me 3 months of painful chasing St my end with Andrew ignoring my messages and emails to finally get a slot to correct the mistake in his map. Was beyond frustrating to say the least. But at least it's fixed now and I'm happy that's all behind me.

He's genuinely s lovely guy, just overbooks himself in my opinion.

My wagon was mapped by Andy Carr according to the docs I got from the previous owner. Just had a call back from Rich at FB after taking it in for a health check last night. Needs a remap as it's overboosting and detting on full throttle. Creeping up towards 1.6 bar in places when it should be around 1.4. He didn't sound too impressed with the map, but didn't flat out say it was poorly done, possibly just some professional courtesy on his part. Not out to slate Andy, I've never met him, this is just my limited experience of his work.
