When I was a school Governor I recall the funding for each child being around the 5-6k area. Different areas of the country receive different funding and this has been raised and discussed in parliament more than once. No idea what the higher funding rates are, but I know my area (East Yorks) was one of the lowest in the country. Looks like that is being fixed or broken depending on your POV.

https://fullfact.org/education/spend...hools-england/

I wonder if we'll ever get to the point where if you put your child through private education, you can 'opt out' and take the 5-6k and make up the difference yourself? Not really Brexit related, but an interesting concept and question anyway. By removing your child from state education, the schools lose the child payment, but you still pay the same tax and council tax, so where does the money go?

Seriously? Do you ever answer the question when it doesn't suit your rigid agenda?

Let me spell it out for you again.

We live in a society which means those who by luck or skill do better in life pay more tax so that the others can have a chance to catch up ie free healthcare, education, help with housing etc.

And thats exactly how it should be.

However, what is the point of allowing more unskilled people into the country who are a net drain on resources? And then complain that our infrastructure is failing?

I'm sorry but even my 10 year old son would tell you that it's a recipe for economic failure and social strife.

I'm sure you see it as well, but you just can't bring yourself to admit it....because all immigration is good, right?

Surely the question here should be. At a time of technical 'full employment', how many unskilled migrants does the economy need?

The NHS argument is a red herring. Our aging population is causing the strain on its resourcing not largely young and healthy migrants.

our ageing population are the ones that have paid tax and ni all thier lives not the immies on min wage and zero hours contracts picking up child benefit and childrens tax credit, i can tell you now if you have 3 kids and get min wage you will get more cb than you pay in tax in a 4week period, so the only immigrants that could possibley contribute are the single ones who are working not going to the doctors, etc and not using any goverment services

CORRECT and because of that they can't afford people trained to deal with people with mental health issues, see my post about PIP questions and the person asking them, when she asked him about getting on a bus i said love a monkey could get on a bus, but wouldn't know what stop to get off at, what sort of a question is that

Yes, the whole PIP thing is a total mess, unfair, and cruel. Thing is, this is not because immigrants are draining resources (they aren't, and there's plenty of figures and statistics to show this). It's because we have a Tory government that is incompetent, and actively chooses to treat people in this way. And it suits them that people in your unfortunate situation wish to blame their predicament on "immies" rather than their political doctrine and failures.

Can you provide robust evidence that proves otherwise? And I'm not talking GDP measurements, because any fool knows that's flawed in this context.

Just because you keep saying that there are statistics and figures to show that 'recent' immigrants aren't a net drain on resources doesn't make it true.

Please show all of us the robust stats that prove that the millions who have come over here in the last ten years pay more in tax than they take out.

I'm pretty sure you can't. As I said to Hodgy, an increase in GDP proves nothing.

Perhaps you could show all of us the robust stats that prove the opposite? And then correlate them with the gov's implementation of PIP assessment?

well its not hard to do is it
anyone immigrant or not with kids on min wage don't pay thier way the cb and ctc per 4 weeks will be more than they pay in tax and ni now throw in housing benefit for good measure plus free school meals and bus, i could post up a copy of my wage slip but for the sake of argument tax 122.40 and ni 114.41 thats on a wage of 1625.45 per month 1625.45 devided by 21x8 (no of working days in month = 9.67 per hour i can tell you the cb and ctc is more than i pay in tax and ni and as you can see i aint on min wage, so how the hell can someone on min wage with kids be paying thier way

So how many immigrants are on minimum wage and have kids then? What about the ones who are fit and young earning good money? What about the ones who are running businesses and employ people? What about the ones who are working for the NHS? In my area, there are lots of skilled EU citizens working at GKN, Airbus, Rolls Royce, and the NHS, earning very good money, filling vacancies that exist due to a skill shortage.
