Alcazar has popped up somewhere too! Good on him.

Brexit is a real dead duck. Our economy is going down the pan unfortunately. I've not been unemployed for 33 years.I am now. No idea what they will do about leaving EU now.

They'll do it anyway because
  • They're ****wits
  • They don't want to lose face
  • They have no plan B
Nothing like crashing out of all this free trade amidst a worldwide economic disaster. It's not as if we now have tons of buoyant economies to exploit

I know the govt didn't know this was coming, none of us did, but it has happened, it does make a difference, carrying blindly on is irresponsible in the extreme. I'm not saying they should change the outcome, but they certainly need to take a more pragmatic view and delay.

Has a whiff of the fiasco involving Bundesbank’s actions in relation to the original ERM (rightly or wrongly depending on which side of the fence you’re on ).

Lets see who is pulling the EU strings.

2.2 Trillion euros already bought in bonds by the ecb. Bumdesbank already saddled with a massive bond load.

Cant wait for Largegard to explain why fiscal support has surreptitiously become sovereign state loans

I think I mentioned this before a long while ago, that quality of life is more important than GDP. Well it seems that folk around the UK seem to have the same opinion as myself. Being happy and well with a bit less money is a priority for most

I think there is a difference between accepting some restrictions in the face of a pandemic than facing them because we left the EU

And once we have to pay for either - because we will be paying for this lockdown - then it will be interesting to see what people's opinions are then!

It looks like vast majority of folk in the UK concur. So its not the case whether you're well off or not, its a lifestyle aspiration.

Siesta, riposo, mesimeri, sieste....what do we get?

If the EU forced all its members to have its population partake in boozy lunches and proper summer shut-downs we’d likely not be in this mess.

Meanwhile in Brexit news....

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-northern-ireland-52654166

...the UK has confirmed plans for a hard border with Northern Ireland!

With different lockdown rules in the four nations, the UK certainly isn't looking very United at the moment. The Brexiteers were hoping the EU would fall apart, I bet they weren't thinking it would be the UK that falls apart!

lol, is ths for real!!!

we have left the EU!!! - and feeling the ramifications already. on the 4th of May Germany had already ordered two million Roche antibody tests for May, and five million per month after that. Following approval by the EU, other EU countries have also already placed their orders. Like PPE, its back of the queue for Britain again.

well done Brexidiots

With this Corona virus, I can't help thinking the UK is following the Brexit mentality that we're better off on our own and ignoring all the knowledge and advice coming from any other country just on principle!

The result - an utter f***up!

But don't you dare blame demi-God Boris! Now is not the time to scrutinize!

"But don't you dare blame demi-God Boris! Now is not the time to scrutinize!"

I think most are too committed tbh, too far down the rabbit hole

Johnson has been a bull****ing liar for for 35 years - nothing new

witness the admission from the UK this week, that there will indeed be checks on goods between NI and the UK - despite Johnson claiming in November last year "you could put forms in the bin" and "call me"

everyone knew (except brexidiots wtf ) he was lying, just bare faced bull****

yet voted in just to "get brexit done" - and we are an even bigger international laughing stock than we already were

its a shame so many people have had to die and lose livelihoods - but anyone voting for this clown "knew what they were voting for!!!"

Personally, you really need to let it go, the inner rage you exhibit will destroy you if you don't.

If its that important to be in the EU, move there and enjoy all the benefits you believe it possesses. I have no doubt you will be welcomed with open arms, your children can benefit too.

The latest from Macron and Merkyl to create 'Loans', erm I meant to say 'Grants' of 500 Billion euros.

This will be distributed to member states. Then added to the EU budget!

Basically money roundabout

Guy Verhofstadt has slated the idea as another sticking plaster on top of another.

Just a headline grabber for yesterday, flushed down the pan tomorrow by the other members states

Well, the UK won't be seeing a penny of it, that's for sure! Once again, the notion of solidarity and stronger together which binds the EU is shining through while the UK is now left to roll around in its own excrement!

Guy Verhofstadt wants EU reform to include revenue generation by the EU itself to create its own emergency fund and enable it to react more quickly in a crisis without having to rely on the member states and all the backroom political bargaining that goes hand in hand with such grants and loans. That's the reason for his sticking plaster comment, not that he is against the principle of the new grants.

The UK won't be paying for it, that's for sure.

Unlike the PIGS
