So Brexit seems to be a good thing then.

Well, the UK won't be seeing a penny of it, that's for sure! Once again, the notion of solidarity and stronger together which binds the EU is shining through while the UK is now left to roll around in its own excrement!
Guy Verhofstadt wants EU reform to include revenue generation by the EU itself to create its own emergency fund and enable it to react more quickly in a crisis without having to rely on the member states and all the backroom political bargaining that goes hand in hand with such grants and loans. That's the reason for his sticking plaster comment, not that he is against the principle of the new grants.

It looks very unlikely fiscal responsibility will realised giventhe vast chasm between northern Europe and the southern countries

The latest from Macron and Merkyl to create 'Loans', erm I meant to say 'Grants' of 500 Billion euros.
This will be distributed to member states. Then added to the EU budget!
Basically money roundabout
Guy Verhofstadt has slated the idea as another sticking plaster on top of another.
Just a headline grabber for yesterday, flushed down the pan tomorrow by the other members states

Well here it is from gov.uk
Liberalisation of Australian tariffs could benefit the Machinery and Transport equipment industry, which is the cornerstone of many regions’ exports to Australia. The automotive industry is important to the UK and Australia’s bilateral trading relationship; cars are the UK’s second highest goods export to Australia. The following regions could benefit in particular: Northern Ireland, the North East of England, the West Midlands and East of England.
staggering , cos i couldnt detect anthing british when i was i Aus

So much for the Brexit Bonus! This is the one of the most stupid Brexit waste of money so far!
For one, the UK should have made remaining in Galileo an absolute priority. We have already invested millions in developing Galileo and just as its coming online we lose access! Total stupidity!!!!
Buying one-web as a replacement "to rival" Galileo is also ridiculous! One-web is(was) a Low-Earth-Orbit satellite constellation designed to provide internet access to remote locations. It failed because it was simply too expensive and delayed compared to Star-Link, there was simple no viable business model! It was never designed to provide global positioning and lacks the accurate clocks required to provide accurate global positioning.
The One-Web developers have sold this deal to the UK government with the idea that they can easily reconfigure the satellites to provide a GPS service, but "simply" and "satellite development" don't go hand in hand, and given this will need to have encrypted channels for military service (the whole reason why the UK/EU wants its own GPS system in the first place), the cost of re-purposing One-Web as a GPS system will be enormous.
Is this waste of money what the Brexitees voted for when they knew what they were voting for?

Apart from costing the taxpayer a rather big pile of wasted cash, OneWeb's satellite's aren't even in the right orbit to provide a navigation type system:

There is a reason why all other GPS systems are operated at a much higher altitude - it simply makes more sense! But common sense is not something the current British government is renowned for!
But of course all Brexiteers were fully aware that leaving the EU meant leaving the Galileo program and the UK wasting billions trying to replace it!
